Boxset, 2 Studio Alum LP's both 180g coloured vinyl + 2 x Digital Download Rarities Albums - Limited Edition 500 Pressing.

Punk legends Babes In Toyalnd returned to the worlds stage in 2015 ending a 14 year hiatus with founding members Kat Bjelland and Lori Barbero reminding riot grrrl's and boys of all ages how to rock, with an extensive tour and high profile festival dates across the USA, Canada and Europe. This collection compiles Bjelland's two solo albums recorded under the moniker Katastrophy Wife released during that hiatus.

Katastrophy Wife's debut Amusia'was released to highly favourable reviews following a UK live debut at Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2001. Including the UK Indie #14 single Gone Away', together with fan favourites like Git Go'and Window'the album soon became a highly sought after addition to Bjelland's hardcore Babes in Toyland fan base. This collection marks the albums 15th Anniversary and it's first ever vinyl release.

The sophomore album All Kneel'spawned three singles Liberty Belle', Money Shot and Blue Valient. Enjoying great critical acclaim, including features and reviews from Kerrang!, The Guardian and Mojo. Further touring of Europe and the US followed culminating in a headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival in 2004. A final single release Heart-On'via the Australian label RiSH followed in 2007 before Bjelland embarked on her own musical hiatus until the much publicised return of Babes in Toyland.

Whilst fans and critics patiently await the release of new material from the Minneapolis rockers this release finally brings together the two hard to find albums Amusia'and All Kneel'repackaged and pressed on 180g coloured vinyl, combined with the specially compiled and previously unreleased digital album Amnesia'and For Your Patients'a collection of rare recordings from the Amusia'and All Kneel'era's respectively.

    Carina Round 'Deranged to Divine'

    £20.49

This self curated collection from Wolverhampton born Carina Round, brings together, for the first time, material spanning from 2001 to 2015 taken from her first four critically acclaimed albums: ‘The First Blood Mystery’, ‘The Disconnection’, 'Slow Motion Addict’, ‘Tigermending’, as well as the EP 'Things You Should Know’, home to the included track ‘For Everything a Reason’ which featured on the TV series ’American Horror Story: Murder House’.

Complimented with two previously unreleased recordings, the bewitching ‘Gunshot’ and an alternate version of the track ‘Want More’, this collection perfectly illustrates the uniqueness of Round’s voice, barbed wire lyrics and a catalogue of haunting and beautiful songs.

As one of the UK’s most enigmatic songstresses and extraordinary performers, Round’s music has also won her fans and collaborators amongst highly regarded musicians including Maynard James Keenan, Lou Reed, Ryan Adams, Billy Corgan, Dave Stewart and Brian Eno, amongDo Yourself InDo Yourself In / Dehiscest many others.

‘Deranged to Divine’ is a retrospective not only for Carina's passionate fan base, who have avidly supported her musical output and extensive touring, celebrating her as one of Britain’s most evocative, diverse and restless artists. For Carina, now based in California and currently working on a new solo record, ‘Deranged to Divine’ also serves as the ideal introduction to her work as a solo artist to fans of Puscifer, the electro-industrial alterna-sunstrokers founded by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, of which Round is also a member.

Puscifer are currently enjoying international success with their recent album 'Money Shot’ and it’s accompanying sold out tour. Beautifully packaged, with career spanning imagery by acclaimed photographers and a complete set of lyrics selected and compiled by Carina, 'Deranged to Divine' is a terrific addition to anyone’s record collection, and an essential one to any fan of Carina Round.

    Fortuna POP!

    Evans The Death 'Vanilla'

    £9.99

London five-piece Evans the Death return with Vanilla, their most ambitious and experimental album to date, eschewing the more traditional pop structures and hooks of their first two albums, 2012's self-titled debut and 2015's critically acclaimed Expect Delays. While Expect Delays was a step towards something more interesting, more collaborative, experimental and abrasive - a bleak, introspective kind of album that still retained a pop sensibility - Vanilla sees the band veer in an ever more adventurous direction: more aggressive, extroverted and raw.

Named after the undertaker in Dylan Thomas'radio play, Under Milk Wood, the band was formed by brothers Dan and Olly Moss after meeting singer Katherine Whitaker at a Let's Wrestle show. After numerous line-ups, the band is now completed by James Burkitt on drums and Daniel Raphael on bass. The new album was recorded at Lightship95 in London with producer Rory Attwell, who worked on both of their previous records. Highly variegated in style and mood, brimming with extreme contrasts, from noisy to funky to melodic, energetic to dejected, full of chaos and restlessness, the album was the result of a carefully planned recording strategy, as Dan Moss explains:

'We deliberately booked very little time in the studio, and we pretty much did everything live, together in the room - there was no trying to fix any mistakes. What you hear is very close to what we did in that moment - so technically, while it isn't overly polished or slick, it's a very high fidelity recording - an accurate reproduction of the original source. I think that gives it more of an urgency and honesty than the first two. We decided to limit ourselves to 8 tracks and this meant we were restricted in how much we could alter things after recording, and the amount of overdubs we could do - which is what we wanted.'

With no specific musical reference point, the songs on Vanilla veer wildly in style, lending a real energy and vitality to the flow of the album. There's the psychedelic snarl of 'Haunted Wheelchair' built around dissonant, ominous, jazz-like chords, which build a sense of dread and paranoia but also a strange excitement. Dan explains: 'I wasn't getting enough sleep. Then before recording the song, while on my way to a party I got assaulted out of the blue, and I had to have surgery for a broken jaw. I used that incident to hang the lyrics on, but really it's about that strange feeling I was already having anyway.'

There's also the no-wave party vibe of 'Suitcase Jimmy', a semi-improvised portrait of a fictional down-at-heel actor built around a Wilko Johnson-ish guitar part. 'Hey! Buddy' is an 'unintentionally mean-spirited' askew pop tune from the point of view of a cloying and over-zealous fan of the band. While the wartime dancehall of 'Cable St. Blues' is an odd duet between two parts of the psyche, representing 'an argument you have with yourself, about depression and extreme self-criticism and self-doubt, struggling to function', and named after the site of the 1936 riots where the band wrote the album. 'I wanted the end to sound like a New Orleans jazz funeral', says Dan.

Newest member Daniel Raphael's present to the band, 'Hot Sauce' is led by a groovy, capacious bassline, while Olly's 'Armchair Theatre', the quietest, prettiest song on the record, starts out like a soft rock classic and turns in to a gorgeously mournful song with the lyric 'I took you to the park / kickin'through used Johnnies and dry leaves'. And 'Welcome to Usk' drews on Ennio Morricone's spaghetti western soundtracks and parts of Vivian Kubrick's score for Full Metal Jacket, with a banging disco section thrown in for good measure. 'When we first got this song right I got so excited I threw up my dinner', says Dan. 'It has three different time signatures!'

A dark, howling, ragged storm of an album, impossible to categorise, Vanilla is anything but - a far cry from the bland, unimaginative music that pervades the airwaves. It is a brittle, brilliant new chapter in the story of a band who never fail to surprise.

    2 x 180g, Coloured, Vinyl & Download Card - Limited Edition 500 Pressing.

For the first time ever anywhere! It's the thoroughly collected works of Blood Sausage, the early 1990's punk and poetry phenomena that baffled audiences, upset soundmen and really really angered the music press.

Blood Sausage was a loose fitting musical collective based around Dale Shaw (Vocals and words), AJW Bourton (The McTells, The Beatpack, Cee Bee Beaumont), Owen Thomas (Cee Bee Beaumont, Graham Coxon), Jo Johnson (Huggy Bear, Bleep43), Niki Elliott (Huggy Bear) plus special guests such as Sexton Ming and Kathleen Hanna.

Featuring their acclaimed Wiiija EP Touching You in Ways That Don't Feel Comfortable'(NME's Single of the Week) every track from their debut album, K single, Clawfist split single with Cornershop plus live tracks, unreleased stuff and demos.

Described at the time as ' - ¦a plane crash involving Thinking Fellas Local Union 238 and The Kingston Trio with The Standells as the black box flight recorder, Archie Shepp as the rescue crew and Isaac Hayes as the priest administering the last rites - ¦' we still feel this is pretty accurate.

This double album, coloured vinyl set also features 29 tracks of remastered mayhem plus extensive liner notes from Dale Shaw. Nothing ever sounded like Blood Sausage. Some people think this is a good thing.

    Awesome Tapes From Africa

    Awalom Gebremariam 'Desdes'

    £11.99

At the age of 28, Awalom Gebremariam arrived in the United States, following a years-long journey from Eritrea. He'd made it to a refugee camp in Ethiopia several years ago and eventually attained asylum status for passage to America. But before he left his hometown, Eritrea's capital Asmara, he made his first and only recording so far, Desdes.

In 2006, Awalom began to teach himself two of Eritrea's most recognizable and important folk instruments, the wata and the krar. Although they have roots in traditional music, they are heard in most Eritrean folk and pop recordings.

Awalom completed Desdes in 2007, not long before he departed Eritrea. Because Awalom left after the recording he never received any money for cassette and CD sales. But he also didn't get to find out how much of an impact the songs have had locally.

His songs appear to focus on love, but Awalom isn't speaking about romantic love per se. Much of the music Awalom heard growing up was intertwined with Eritrea's difficult and contentious split from Ethiopia. In 2012, during a trip to Switzerland to help promote a film about biking in Eritrea, ATFA was given a copy of Desdes by fixed-gear bicycle athlete Patrick Seabase, the documentary's protagonist. Seabase gave a copy to ATFA founder Brian Shimkovitz as a gift and it later appeared on the ATFA blog. !

A few years later Shimkovitz was contacted by some agencies in North Carolina, where Awalom had settled. Through a translator very one decided to work together on a reissue of his recording. It took many months to source a clean master but now the album is ready and Awalom's goals are clear.

He spent years waiting for the chance to escape economic and political turmoil at home. Now 29 and living in North Carolina, he works in a restaurant and plans to bring his music to Eritrean communities across North America as well as newer listeners with whom his powerful sounds and remarkable journey will deeply resonate.

'Sometimes you need to burrow through the darkness of your soul to find the light in your life. This album is definitely dark at times, but through it all, it comes with a sense of release and freedom' - Levitation Magazine. // Limited edition of 750 copies on 180 grams transparent vinyl.

The return of Icelandic Singapore Sling is upon us with their seventh studio album, recorded in the winter of 2011-2012 titled The Towers of Foronocity'and you will be anticipating this one for good reason. Twelve tracks of that dark, moody and broody sound that we all have come to know so well. It's like a surrealistic dream sequence out of a David Lynch movie. Walls and walls of sound, layered between darkness and light.

The album contains some of the bands best songs to date, including the opening track 'You Drive Me Insane' with it's thump coming at you, it'll have you tasting the blood (of Singapore Sling) immediately. The band was born in 2000 as a result of nobody making the music that Singapore Slings Henrik Bjornsson wanted to hear.

So he simply decided to make it himself, instead of complaining and doing nothing. It was born out of love and hate. Love of the various music from the past, mainly rock 'n' roll, and hatred of the majority of the music around him. He named the band Singapore Sling (after the film by Nikolai Nikolaidis) shortly before the first show in he fall of 2000.

The first proper record, The Course of Singapore Sling, was released in 2002 and named "The Course Of" because of bad luck and freaky incidents that surrounded the recording of the record. The course went on and so did they.

Having completed a preliminary round of work on their eponymous 2015 album at Rockfield Studios,Wire found themselves with 19 tracks. Among them, there was a critical mass of 11 aesthetically unified songs. In typical Wire fashion, however, the remaining material was something other: it had the sound of a band already moving in a different direction, beyond the album project in which they were engaged at that time.

These tracks were the basis for Nocturnal Koreans. The difference between the two clusters of work birthed at Rockfield has its roots in discrete approaches to the studio process itself. Nocturnal Koreans emphasises studio construction over authentic performance, using the recording environment as an instrument, not just as a simple means of capturing Wire playing.

Although it's become de rigueur to talk about Wire's capacity for self-reinvention, that's never the whole story. Certainly, the impulse to pursue fresh ideas with each phase of work is buried deep in their artistic DNA, but they've balanced that commitment to the new with a core character and attitude that's always at some level recognisable as Wire'without being reducible to a formulaic sound.

It's this enduring dialectic that gives Wire their unique sta-tus as a long-established band that continues to forge ahead with original music: always unmistakably Wire but al-ways reimagined and reframed with each successive project.

DJ Katapila makes Ga traditional music using electronic sounds instead of live percussion to create his own kind of what he calls house music. In the context of Ghana's pop music landscape, Katapila's music is singular.

The uptempo, bass-heavy, Roland 808-rooted sounds echo early 1990's Detroit techno and Chicago acid house more than the contemporary hiplife productions blasting across Ghanaian airwaves currently. However, the structure of Katapila's sound directly descends from Ga musical lineage found around Accra. Neo-traditional dance music forms gome, kpanlogo and gyama are there.

DJ Katapila didn't start producing music until he was 39 years old. Around 1998, began chanting and rapping in Twi and Ga during instrumental breaks of songs he was DJing. He added Yamaha DD11 electronic drum pads and sampler and invented new creations on the fly. Katapila then began experimenting with program beats using Fruity Loops on his laptop.

His music reflects his love for the international dance pop that filtered into Accra's radio waves in the '90s: Inner City's "Big Fun"; C&C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat"; Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman"; even Rick Astley hits, among many others. Katapila mixed international tunes with highlife - J.A. City Boys and AB Crentsil - as well as hiplife, Ghanaian gospel, Jamaican dancehall, soca and regional Francophone hits.

This blend helped set the stage for Trotro and the inspired yet minimalist dance music Katapila now creates.

Teklife presents Afterlife, the first release on the new Teklife Records label.

The album is a celebration of the life and music of the late, great DJ Rashad and features 15 previously unreleased tracks, each a collaboration between DJ Rashad and friends from the Teklife crew and beyond. A limited edition double vinyl will accompany the digital release.

Afterlife is testament to an incredible breadth of influences and love of music with soul, hip-hop, house, techno and many more all brought together at 160bpm. Rashad's presence is felt throughout in the boundless energy and creativity which run through the album, whilst each collaborator brings their personal touch to the compositions.

With such a prolific body of work as both a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians, it would be impossible to present a definitive collection of DJ Rashad's music and many many classics will remain unreleased for ever.

Afterlife is our tribute to our friend and our inspiration. Rest In Peace DJ Rashad.

A percentage of the profits from the album will be donated to Rashad's family.

  • Sonic Jesus 'Locomotive (Remixed By Sonic Boom)' - Cargo Records UK

    Fuzz Club Records

Sonic Jesus 'Locomotive (Remixed By Sonic Boom)'

    £5.99

    Limited to 1000 copies.

After causing seismic shifts in the underground earlier this year with their debut album Neither Virtue Nor Anger, Sonic Jesus are back with a limited edition 7' featuring a brand new track, and remix by Sonic Boom aka Pete Kember from Spacemen 3 and Spectrum, due for release November 20th on Fuzz Club Records.

On Side A the remix of 'Locomotive' maintains the track's beautiful abstract vocals which evoke some kind of religious ritual or perhaps a lonely lament. The song is then propelled into the heavens as the band crashes in and Sonic Boom's psychedelic treatment takes effect.

The B side, 'Never In My Mind', starts off like a call to arms full of violence and energy, and continues its rampage pace like an adrenaline shot to the heart. The marching snare drum is overlaid with fuzz-heavy guitars and dark distorted vocals to produce a sound that is distinctly Sonic Jesus.

From their two releases to date (Neither Virtue Nor Anger and a self titled EP released by Fuzz Club in 2012) Sonic Jesus has earned the adoration of much of the alternative music press including Consequence of Sound, The Quietus, Drowned In Sound, Clash Music, and Exclaim! who have praised their unique sound of intense industrial darkness, built from vast and myriad influences.

The Quietus says Sonic Jesus have conclusively proved themselves the contemporary masters'.

Drowned In Sound says Sonic Jesus can lay claim to releasing one of the scene's - and this year's - finest collections.'(Referring to Neither Virtue Nor Anger).
