Portugal’s 10 000 Russos are the latest to join the Fuzz Club Session alumni, with the 12” set for release January 22nd. .Russos’ live session encapsulates their incredible droning psychedelia at its most raw and industrial, the live analogue recording allowing the band to shine in all their noisy glory.
Offering four dark, experimental soundscapes that are structured by an array of effects and loops; the swathes of celestial noise and howling feedback are underpinned by driving, monolithic Neu!-esque rhythms, hypnotic droning guitars a la Spacemen 3 and atonal, reverb-soaked vocals bringing to mind Mark E Smith on a ton of acid.

10,000 Russos are a formidable force; their industrial psych/post-punk has been charming fuzz-heads across the globe with its stomping, shamanic mantras and otherworldly krautrock slant. Their second LP ‘Distress Distress’ will be released April 7th via Fuzz Club Records.
10,000 Russos have once again transcended the boundaries of psychedelia as we know it today; their dark, droning noise is twisted, distorted and pushed to its limit.
‘Distress Distress’ is so ritualistic and industrial it see’s their usual post-punk sound – a primal and celestial mix of The Fall, NEU! and Spacemen 3 – pushed within an inch of techno territory with its abrasive, metronomic rhythms.

5599 is a new duo featuring France's electronic improvisation giant Jean-Marc Foussat on EMS Synthi AKS and current golden boy Augustin Brousseloux on electric guitar and alto saxophone. "Heureusement que le sang seche vite" features 3 tracks where guitar and saxophone interplay with analog synthesizer to create psychedelic, dense and textured soundscapes of aggressive noise onslaughts and moments of bliss.
Born in Oran (Algeria) in 1955, Jean-Marc Foussat played in several experimental rock groups before he started a career as a sound engineer in diverse studios which progressed towards recording live improvised music around 1979. He has collaborated with labels such as Incus, Hat Hut, Po-Torch, Rift, Rec Rec, and Celluloid where he recorded a number of songs for Bill Laswell's seminal Massacre on the album "Killing Time" in 1981.
In 1983, he self-released the groundbreaking "Abattage" which deserves its position on a pedestal amidst the greatest french improvisation records. Since the 1990s he returned to playing in improvisation groups such as Marteau Rouge, alongside Makoto Sato and Jean-Francois Pauvros, and Aliquid with Sylvain Guerineau.
Born in 1999, saxophonist and guitarist Augustin Brousseloux is a young prodigy currently storming the french improvisation underground. At the age of 16, he has already collaborated - live and on albums - with with heavyweights such as Noel Akchote, Costes and Jean-Marc Foussat.

Live album from 65daysofstatic's 2008 US tour with The Cure. Includes DVD documentary of the tour.
Last year, most of their time was taken up supporting The Cure on their world tour. Rolling up to arenas and blasting their confusing noise at shows full of unsuspecting Cure fans, was an immensely satisfying experience.
The World Tour came to an end with two shows in New York City, at 2 of the most prestigious venues the US has to offer - Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. Both shows were recorded and the result is the bands first live album.
A 45 minute rush of tinnitus, contrary techno, fragile guitars, anti-social drum'n'bass in 7/4 The DVD accompanying this release is '65DOC' a road movie, captured by 65 conspirator Caspar Newbolt, over the course of the North American leg of the tour.

All LPs will include a large format 12-page colour booklet containing the images and titles of all 1000 hand-decorated individual Polaroid photos taken by the band and used to create unique customised sleeves for the sold-out limited edition ‘Radio Protector 7” single” in 2006, plus a copy of the album CD and a colour-printed inner sleeve.
Following the release of their widely acclaimed debut album ‘The Fall of Math’ in 2004, 65daysofstatic spent several months touring the UK, playing to packed venues and festival tents. They recorded three radio sessions for BBC Radio 1 - for the late John Peel, Zane Lowe and a live from Maida Vale Studios set for Huw Stephens.
‘One Time For All Time’ was written on and between those tours and is a mixture of confusion, guilt, exhaustion and anger. Furious drum'n'glitch beats collide with walls of guitar noise, broken laptop clicks and tranquil pools of piano. There are still no words. The band are still trying to articulate all that stuff that no-one’s really invented words for yet. Senses are pulled in every direction - this is not a happy album - yet the overall effect remains an uplifting experience…

Richard Skelton is an artist from Lancashire in the UK. He started his Sustain-Release Private Press in 2005 as a commemorative tribute to his late wife Louise, with the intention of publishing her artwork alongside his own musical offerings. Since its inception he has released a slew of raw, beautiful recordings presented in lovingly-assembled, individualised editions.
Operating under a variety of guises, including Heidika, Carousell, Harlassen and Clouwbeck, Skelton creates powerful, instrumental music out of densely-layered acoustic guitar, bowed strings, piano, mandolin and accordion, often laced with delicate, shimmering percussion. The result is something utterly unique - a music which is both life-affirming and yet etched with memory and loss, evoking equal parts Arvo Pärt and Ry Cooder, Nick Drake and Henryk Górecki.
It is with A Broken Consort, perhaps, that Skelton most-assuredly draws these elements together, creating an ever-changing drift of rich textures and interleaved melody that effortlessly evokes the landscapes which inspired it. Box Of Birch, his second album in this guise, was originally published in a boxed edition that contained, among other things, birch twigs collected from the West Pennine Moors. For Skelton these things act as a synecdoche for the landscape itself, a physical connection to the places in which much of his music is recorded.
In this new edition for Tompkins Square, Skelton has created an exclusive series of artworks which draw on the hidden histories of the English landscape, and their narratives of displacement and loss. The result is something which perfectly complements the music whilst adding another dimension, providing a fuller picture of the artist’s vision.

Crow Autumn is the latest album by English composer Richard Skelton, who releases haunting and evocative music under a variety of guises through his own much-acclaimed Sustain-Release Private Press. From Clouwbeck to Heidika, Carousell to Riftmusic, his recordings brim with intensity and stark beauty, redolent of the landscapes that inspire them.
Recording here as A Broken Consort – his most prolific and successful pseudonym – Skelton expertly builds on the achievements of last year's Box Of Birch, creating a dense-yet-delicate weave of textures from a broad palette of acoustic instruments, including guitar, mandolin, piano, violin and accordion.
The result is a stunning sequence of swells and eddies, culminating in the orchestral intensity of 'The River', with its torrent of interleaved violin melodies and seething undertow. Originally released in two installments on the artist's own label, this special edition for Tompkins Square distills the essence of those recordings into a coherent whole, and augments them with new material, including the beautifully elegiac 'Like Rain', and the brooding coda of 'Leaves'.
With Crow Autumn, Skelton has created a work of enduring beauty that should firmly establish him as one of England's most uniquely talented contemporary artists, capable of rendering with a fine brush the visceral majesty of the natural landscape.

Landscapes both seen and felt, real and imagined, lie at the heart of In All That Drifts From Summit Down, the vast debut full-length release from nomadic duo A Dead Forest Index.
Comprised of brothers Adam Sherry (vocals/guitar) and Sam Sherry (drums/piano), the group crafts ethereal and intensely intimate compositions that defy trends and labeling, instead shaping an aural experience as organic as it is unpredictable. Forsaking instrumental complexity in favor of richly dense vocals and an otherwise minimal palette, the band evokes heaviness with the atmosphere they create rather than through blunt force. Teaming-up with Sargent House on the heels of a recent European tour supporting labelmate Chelsea Wolfe, A Dead Forest Index are poised to introduce their sound to a global audience in 2016.
A Dead Forest Index was initially the solo project of Adam Sherry, begun in 2008. By 2010, it had evolved into a collaboration, with Sam Sherry supplying percussive depth to his brother’s distinctively hymnal approach to vocals, itself characterized by cyclical harmonies and experiments with drone. Untethered by place (or, for that matter, era), they’ve spent the past few years developing their sound, touring extensively between 2012-2014, and issuing the EPs “Antique” and “Cast of Lines” in the process.
The latter was released by Jehnny Beth of Savages’ Pop Noire label, a precursor to the collaborative Savages/A Dead Forest Index composition and performance titled “In What I’m Seeing; the Sun” for the Barbican’s Station to Station Festival in 2015.
Their debut album, is a testimony to the sublime divinity of nature and the cold reality of time’s passage. Unfolding over 13 tracks, the album imagines natural phenomena as poetic metaphor for the human condition, the lyrics evoking stone, cold air, unyielding emptiness and erosion, while the enveloping warmth of Adam Sherry’s layered, choral vocals makes for an intriguing contrast.
