In 2018, Cosey Fanni Tutti was commissioned to write the soundtrack to director and actor Caroline Catz’s acclaimed, intimate portrayal of the composer, musician and sonic experimentalist, Delia Derbyshire (1937-2001).
Best known for her groundbreaking work on the 1963 Doctor Who theme tune, Derbyshire was instrumental in giving easy access to and rewiring a nation’s attitudes towards electronic music. Working within the often-stifling confines of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, her experimentalism - which saw her manipulating magnetic tape, found sounds and electronics - is only now being given full credit for the immeasurable impact it has had on the way we hear the world.
The new album includes the audio explorations and experiments that lead Cosey Fanni Tutti to the final soundtrack for Catz’ film. From the 4-minute long ‘Cornet Lament’ to the humorous ‘Snuff Chorus’ (which references an addiction that Derbyshire had for snuff), the album is a journey through both Delia and Cosey’s practise – Fanni Tutti spent time researching Derbyshire’s archives (both musical and the more personal ephemera of her life) to create an audio world for Catz’s depiction of the artist to inhabit.
Fanni Tutti explains, “The compositions are inspired by my research of the Delia Derbyshire audio archive, Delia's original compositional notes and techniques which in combination with my admiration and love of Delia’s work provided a way to integrate her style and approach to music with my own. An alliance of our sensibilities.”
The new album follows the release of Cosey Fanni Tutti’s new book, RE-SISTERS: The Lives and Recordings of Delia Derbyshire, Margery Kempe and Cosey Fanni Tutti which is due to be published on Faber on 18 August.
The book and the soundtrack recordings are intrinsically linked – Cosey’s research into Derbyshire coincided with her discovery of Margery Kempe and while working on the film, she found herself struck by how Derbyshire, Kempe and Fanni Tutti’s own life experiences felt intertwined. In the book, for the first time, Cosey Fanni Tutti explains her own processes creating music, an invaluable insight her artistic life.
The music was composed, performed and produced by Cosey Fanni Tutti in Twickenham Studio 3, London and Studio 47 in Norfork, with vocals by Cosey Fanni Tutti and Caroline Catz, alongside the voice of Delia Derbyshire.
Musician, artist and author Cosey Fanni Tutti has continually challenged boundaries and conventions for four decades. As a founding member of the hugely influential avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle, as one half of electronic pioneers Chris and Cosey, and as an artist channelling her experience in pornographic modelling and striptease, her work on the margins has come to reshape the mainstream.
Her first solo album, Time To Tell (1983) was followed by 2019’s Tutti and her debut book, Art Sex Music, was published in 2017.

Discussing the record, Josephine explains “You may notice me travelling a bit further sonically from our precious earth, aspiring to rise into broader astral perspective, to contemplate the light and origins of it all, as I do believe there is a grand source that is the sum of it all, us all.
Performing all the parts on this recording, you may sense me focussing gestures of my singing into the instrumentation, which is a very great relief indeed, as the voice has such grand dreams to be set free.”

In the resulting no man’s land, lyrics take precedence over song, lonely phrases colour the haze, a stark and fragmented structure makes time slow down.
'Antidawn' seems to tell a story of a wintertime city, and something beckoning you to follow it into the night. The result is both comforting and disturbing, producing a quiet and uncanny glow against the cold.
Sometimes, as it enters 'a bad place', it takes your breath away. And time just stops.

The drums have a humungous ‘Fugazi’ like welly, and the guitars are a boiling maelstrom of fuzz dense riffola, hardcore punk and warped psychedelics, with added synth. The drums are rolling thunder and ferocious D-Beat, and singer Yuko’s throat shredding snarls are as mean as a pissed off Satan, and melodious, often within the same song.
This is doom meets hardcore punk, hooky melodies, and killer riffs, all cranked up to the max.

You Ain’t Got It Bad ‘ is a danceable, upbeat track with trippy psych production and a strong positive message. It features. both a vocal cameo from Blue Canary’s Harry Burgees and as close to a happy ending as you’ll probably get from Daniel.

As a songwriter, he wrote many BÖC songs including the very popular "Astronomy" (which was covered by Metallica on their 1998's release Garage Inc) and the live staple "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll", which he also sang lead vocals.
"Imaginos 2 – Bombs Over Germany (minus zero and counting)" sees Albert continuing the Trilogy of Imaginos, a concept album about an alien conspiracy that is brought to fruition during the late 19th and early 20th century through the actions of Imaginos, an agent of evil.
The album weaves scripts and poems by the late Sandy Pearlman. It features guests Ross The Boss (Dictators), Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO), and reunites original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom, Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser and Joe Bouchard, as well current BOC member Richie Castellano, who all contribute to this latest installment.
The album also features reworks of classics like "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll", "The Red and the Black", and "Dominance and Submission".

William DuVall’s (Alice In Chains lead singer/guitarist) second solo album, 11.12.21 Live-In-Studio Nashville, is an explosive power trio performance recorded live direct-to-disc on November 12, 2021 at the famed Welcome To 1979 studio in Nashville.
Recording direct-to-disc is a highwire act unlike any other in music. The lacquer disc that will be used to make the vinyl LP is being cut in real time as the performance is taking place. There is no mixing, “fixing," or post-production after the fact whatsoever.

Formed in 1984 out of an obsession with the industrial, noise & power electronics acts of the early eighties, FINAL made its public debut at the legendary Mermaid pub in Birmingham when Broadrick was just 14 years old.Visit product page →
A string of cassette releases via his Post Mortem Rekordings label established the name within the underground noise scene of the time until increased activity with his various groups (Napalm Death, Head of David and later Godflesh) meant that FINAL naturally fell by the wayside before the end of the decade. Broadrick reactivated the project in 1993 during the British ambient "isolationism" period and FINAL's sound became focussed more on texture, producing beatless ambient work with a number of albums for labels like Sentrax, Utech, No Quarter and Neurot. 'It Comes To Us All' is the first FINAL album to appear on vinyl since 2015's 'Black Dollars' on Downwards and continues to explore the textural nature of Broadrick's ambient work - this time through a filter of blown-out harmonic noise that reconnects the project with its harsher roots.
Rather than channelling the angst of early power-electronics, the noise here rumbles along blissfully through 8 untitled tracks, sombre in tone and at times beautiful. Melodies sampled from pop music are put through a process of decay, stripped of their form and worn down with a rusty, melancholic afterglow.
Reducing all its parts to slow-motion shadows of their former selves, 'It Comes To Us All' is an exploration of the decay of all living things that we face collectively, day after day.

Bernie Marsden was a founder member of Whitesnake, and wrote the global smash, "Here I Go Again". Since leaving Whitesnake almost 40 years ago, Bernie has forged an impressive career. He has written and recorded with numerous music legends, composed music for film & TV, become a best selling author, amassed a priceless collection of guitars and of course continued to release outstanding albums as a solo artist.
Most recently, the critically acclaimed #1 Blues album, KINGS. "CHESS" was the second album of Bernie Marsden's "Inspirations Series", representing his interpretation of tracks and artists which were instrumental in shaping his musical taste and guitar style.
Featuring 10 songs that were originally issued by the legendary Chicago label, CHESS, this is another labour of love for Bernie. Releases by giants such as Howling Wolf, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and Elmore James, have all been given a new lease of life in these remarkably fresh recordings. Once again, two Bernie Marsden penned instrumentals inspired by Chess artists appear as bonus tracks on the album.
