Krypts 'Unending Degradation' Vinyl LP - Black Grey and Purple Splatter

    £16.99

Repress of the classic debut full-length by Krypts, on splatter vinyl with upgraded artwork.

Festering in the underground since their inception in 2008, Helsinki-based Krypts are prepared to set free their debut full-length.

While the trademark Krypts’ sounds from the 2009 demo and 2011 EP are there (lumbering low-end, bone-crunching riffs and toxic vocals), “Unending Degradation” showcases a band which has honed their craft and are ready to deliver one of 2013’s must-have death metal releases.

Fuckin’ Death represented one of death metal’s earliest recordings. Over a quarter of a century after its initial recording, “Fuckin’ Death” is not only one of the most brutal audio tortures of the mid ’80s but one of the key ingredients in the early devilish recipe that gave us death fuckin’ metal. Death Strike disbanded after 1985’s Fuckin’ Death demo and Paul Speckmann went on to front the legendary Master.

“Fuckin’ Death” was eventually re-released in 1991 on CD and vinyl, with additional tracks penned by Speckmann and the Nuclear Blast label.

The LP reissue contains the original eight tracks offered by the 1991 Nuclear Blast edition. The layout features new liner notes from Paul Speckmann and a foreword by “Zoltar” from Terrorizer.

Ataraxy 'Where All Hope fades' Vinyl LP

With a certain maturity and poise, a sense of deep-set misery almost pushes the record into death-doom territory. Almost…but not quite. The sound remains tensely energetic, albeit with a sense of space, time and songcraft which is more impressive than ever.

Gruesomely textured wraith-like melodies intertwine monstrously hammering double-bass rhythms, the delicate interplay of guitar harmonies threading a perfect line between devious subtlety and straight-ahead bludgeon. Perhaps above all else, the gasping tortured vocals imbue a horrific terror upon the listener. It is the sum of all parts which so masterfully elevate Ataraxy above their peers.

Few others have scaled such heights; in this timeless classic we witness a band enter the pantheon of death metal royalty.

Megatomb 'Louder Than a Thousand Deaths' Vinyl LP

    £8.99

Blackened is the ostentation of death metal the vilest way. Anointed are the oils of harrowing tones anarchically slipped on the dantesque palette of insanity, extracted and merged from blood clots and disintegrated humans remains.

But what Megatomb do achieve, is not an orgy of gore but a hasty act of uncontrolled debauchery translated on the mother of all known and future slaughters.

And so materialize the evocations that come throughout the length of decades of former horrors: neat Metal with capital letters, unpredictable yet smooth and lethal on its result, with countless casualties.

An achievement of mass destruction and global demise, inflicted with due fury after being under and exposed to the pernicious influence of the distorted Stockholm riffing meets the bullets and spikes fuck off violation of Nifelheim on hard drugs.

Feel the barrel touching the sweat of your skin, taste its gelid iron touch invading your mouth and wait for the lead to put an end to your most precious treasure: your own life which is close to cease forever.

Fuil Na Seanchoille 'Hunger' Vinyl LP - Green

    £16.99

    Green Vinyl!

Initially released on cassette in 2011 by Tour De Garde, Me Saco Un Ojo now gives the vinyl treatment to the debut album from Fuil Na Seanchoille. The name translates from their native Irish as “Blood of the Old Forest” and the approach is suitably shamanic, hypnotic, cold.

Darkness and isolation pervades every note of Hunger, the album allegedly written as a testament to the City of London as the locus of all evil in this world. Monomaniacal in its bleakness, FNS is alienating and hateful with an energy both vital and raw.

Five years have passed since Me Saco Un Ojo exhumed the initial demos from the Celtic horde for 12″ release…the occult Irish black metal entity now prepares for the next chapter.

Stench Of Decay 'Where Death and Decay Reign'

    £9.99

In the wake of the sudden reemergence of Death Metal, it has becoming more difficult to find bands that truly have the same ability to capture the reverence for death and decay that characterized the work of the Death Metal from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

STENCH OF DECAY are among the few bands that reveal through their music their comprehension of the essence of Death Metal. Playing in the Finnish tradition, their demos demonstrate their ability to construct dark riffs and competently piece them together seamlessly to form complex and dynamic song structures.

Moreover, their music is presented in a genuine fashion without pretention and without any desperate attempt to appeal to the current trends within the Death Metal genre. – Voices From The Darkside.

G.A.T.E.S. 'Back From The Grave' Vinyl LP - Clear

    £16.99

    Clear vinyl!

After 18 years of evil, Tokyo punk metal bastards G.A.T.E.S. finally release their debut album! Preceded by a battery of demos, singles and splits to lay the foundations, the metalpunk pioneers have shared black gold with the likes of Children of Technology, Blüdwülf and none-more-honourable than Disclose, the enduring legacy of D-Beat Master Kawakami.

Hammering drums of hell are the cavalry, double-bass madness and d-beat chaos driving relentlessly forward. Loose and sleazy bass work is the artillery, unleashing salvo after salvo with a filth-laden swagger worthy of Motörhead.

Razorsharp guitar riffage is the infantry, swarming the battlefield with diverse tactics to attain supremacy and slaughter without mercy. Vocals are the imperious command HQ, ex-Coffins/Church Of Misery throatshredder Yoshiaki Negishi assaulting with tyranny.

Something of a departure from the patented Me Saco death metal sound, this is a crucial slab of immortal wax that we just couldn’t pass up. 11 diverse and hook-laden hymns of Hades storm your consciousness in a half-hour monument of fire and damnation. Hail the united troops of heavy metal and punk rock – worship the eternal hellstorm of blazing glory!

Anatomia / Undergang 'Split' Vinyl 10" - Pink

    £11.99

Bloodshot Red Vinyl. A glorious testimony to both bands’ shared history, this 10″ split harks back to when the entities first met: the sacrilegious madness and unholy intoxication of 2010’s inaugural Kill-Town Death Fest.

Undergang offer forth an eight minute hymn of atonally disturbed churning hatred for your vomitous displeasure, exhumed from the crypts of 2011 and previously unreleased. Over the course of three LPs and over a half-dozen demos, splits and EPs, the grotesque Danish threesome have crafted a dense-yet-spacious sound of unique underworldly horror.

Hypnotic and miserable, their trademark unutterably guttural vocals, disgustingly down-tuned bludgeoning assault and bulldozer percussion sounds like something found in a sewer that was bricked up and abandoned in the last century.

Joined by Tokyo mutants Anatomia, the veteran Japanese death/doom coven fittingly present a likewise-unearthed curse from their former incarnation as a three-piece in 2010.

Magisterial and ominous in a spectre of haunting disdian, this stand-alone monument to decay is another almost-eight-minute epic, arrogant and disdainful in its splendid wrath.

The entire festering mess is suitably housed in simply dreadful artwork courtesy of the perverted mind of Undergang’s D. Torturdød.

    Anatomia - Forrådnelse

Five years and two new members – drummer Kauko Kuusisalo who joined right after the release of their debut album and second six-stringer Pauli Gurko who arrived last year – later, Finland’s most in-your-face death metal band is back and they still are forging their way with a hammer.

“This was meant at first to be an EP” reveals their original guitarist Jukka Aho “but it slowly grew into a full-length. Some of the songs date all the way back to 2012 and the material has had much time to ferment resulting in GOREPHILIA’s most refined compositions yet. The lyrics explore the inner conflict and self-destructive nature of man – parting from his will, values and life.

The album was recorded with Tommi Otsavaara, mostly live in studio with the exception of vocals and guitar solos, just like for our debut.” If lately many of their contemporaries, including famed label mates KRYPTS whom Jukka is incidentally also part of, have decided to reconnect themselves with the ‘classic Finnish sound’ of the early 90’s, GOREPHILIA have on the other hand decided to go against the tide and turn their gaze towards the US for inspiration.

Their goal is pretty simple: making sure their take on the genre has the kind of sudden impact few will recover from. Whereas others tend to wave around their prey, they’re in for the kill and after ‘Embodiment of Death’ back in 2012, their second full-length ‘Severed Monolith’ is deemed to twist the knife in the wound even deeper.

The only moment where you’ll be able to catch your breath is the interlude ‘Words That Solve Problems’, basically a stepping stone for the following onslaught, ‘Black Horns’. And the first track previewed ‘The Ravenous Storm’ is no different, with its furious barrage of blasts and blistering solos.

Rounded off by Raul Gonzalez ‘cosmic’ artwork reminiscent of what he already had done for MORBUS CHRON, ‘Severed Monolith’ is just that, a testament to death metal crushing power.

Issuing forth like a deadly miasma from the tombs of subterranean Copenhagen, Phrenelith unleash their debut full-length like the hounds of Hades themselves.

Coming off a spate of well-received demos in addition to a split with Spectral Voice on Deutschland’s Iron Bonehead Records plus their Chimaerian Offspring Cassette EP on Extremely Rotten Records, the sound is foetid, guttural and gasping.

Like a half-decomposed corpse disinterred from the marshlands, this slithering rotten filth is hideously attractive, repulsively inviting in its gruesome fascination. A fine sense of poise and grandeur leads to unusual progressions and neck-snapping rhythmic variations.

Atonal apocalyptic melodies collide with off-kilter riff work, crossing the lines between traditional filthy death metal found on the lost tapes of the ’80s alongside splendid maniacal hooks a mile wide which will stand the test of time.

This is the Desolate Endscape – abandon hope and embark on the descent.

With their reputation defined as one of the most important and prominent death metal bands of our era, CRUCIAMENTUM with their debut full-length album “Charnel Passages” deliver what could very well be the death metal pillar of 2015.

Prior, over the last while, during a moment which included the UK death metal band going on hiatus, CRUCIAMENTUM have essentially taken the UK death metal scene by storm and had built their awareness solely on their “Convocation Of Crawling Chaos” demo from 2009 and their “Engulfed In Desolation” EP from 2011.

“Charnel Passages” is a massive death metal opus featuring the best work CRUCIAMENTUM have delivered to date. With a huge and clear sounding production (courtesy of Greg Chandler’s Priory Recording Studio) that carries the ancient old school death metal vibe not exceeding 1993, “Charnel Passages” is the embodiment of dark, crawling, brutal, skilfully played world destroying death metal the way it must be.

Psyched, freaked out, totally gone berserk and demented by a compulsion to death metal the old most rotten way or, on the other hand, due to a massive exposure to zombified terror…

Does it really matter when the harm is done and so, the resulting fucked up mind tends to perform on a deviant artistically interpretation, the aspirations and realizations of the macabre and of the most intolerable pain ever imagined?

Could things even get any worse (or better, depends…) when the idyll with the forbidden is based on a maniacal obsession that gravitates around the deeds and (piece)works of a certain gang of wrongdoers adequately know as Autopsy?

Here’s where fiction and reality bounds are diffused, where the sweat, the tears, the blood and the urine are a finest blended cocktail, shaken by the fears and the convulsion which only the certainty of an imminent terrible death, can do no wrong.
