Recorded over the past year or so, this wonder from Helen McCookerybook is not only an amazingly entertaining collection of superb songs, but it features luminaries such as Robert Rotifer, the astonishing Gina Birch of The Raincoats, The Monochrome Set’s epic Lester Square, erstwhile Massive Attack bassist Winston Blissett, ubiquitous genius Terry Edwards, The Chefs' Jack McCallum and more!

Helen's a national treasure, and her new album is something we're honoured to put forth into the world. Precisely why none of her last eight or nine albums have seen release on vinyl is a mystery, but that’s history! 

If you haven't heard any of Helen's solo material, she's been kicking around since the birth of postpunk with bands like The Chefs and Helen & the Horns, and is a renowned academic who's written loads on music, such as The Lost Women of Rock Music: Female Musicians of the Punk Era (as Helen Reddington), and she's also the co-director (with Gina Birch) of the excellent film, Stories of the She Punks.

Her songs burst with originality, replete the same sort of charm, alluring personality and minimalism of peers like Marine Girls, The Raincoats & Television Personalities.
