Delacave started making music in a very intimate space, a bedroom, discovering and gathering all the imagination necessary for their slow gestation to initiate Gloomy Wave.

In this fourth album, Liliane Chansard and Seb Normal intermingle their melodies even more, their harmonies sound and dissonance, and their voices adjust. Feverishness becomes strength. The different elements are linked in a blurred gap between coloured impressionism and black baroque. They take us on a journey through the great nowhere on disparate grounds where the efforts that cannot be avoided are never in vain.

The strength of lack, the wisdom of emptiness and loss, and the intensity of friendships and discoveries never perish and are always renewed. "Everynight is a Moon Rising" Destinies are linked for a while and then they drift apart. Every atom of our beings is nature.

And every night, dark and impenetrable, suddenly lights up under the white, clear, uncertain and detached lights of unknown planets and systems. If every bit of matter can become a home, the heart and the mind deliver in emotion the secrets of the whole world.

The reference of this double EP is well known to hip hop fans:
it's 1985 - Dougy Fresh and Slick Rick released the track "La Di da Di", which became a classic of the genre and one of the most sampled tracks in its history.

The track, which sounds like a catchphrase, is a perfect description of the singer's rhythmic and melodic flow, which effortlessly flows over Mr Cole's warm, organic beats. The symbiosis is almost perfect. Tinged with heady refrains, the EP can be listened to without moderation.

The mix is based on the remix of the track "It's a boy" by the Large Professor released in 1994. Slick Rick's nonchalant and calm tone inspires the duo to mix the vocals lightly - a desire to harmonise all the elements of the EP for a fluid and almost uninterrupted listening experience from start to finish.

The duo seduces with its rhythmic and melodic poetry, soft to the ear, which can be listened to over and over. The singer Pauline Sampeur is French and English (she grew in London until adolescence) and has a beautiful english flow (she is also my cousin). Aurélien Pablo is on drums & machines.

This album regroups the new EP and their first EP which has never been released on vinyl !

Their first EP was released in 2017 and their title “Blue” became an organic hit with almost 4 million listens on Spotify. The singer Pauline Sampeur is French and English (she grew in London until adolescence) and has a beautiful english flow. Aurélien Pablo is on drums & machines.

Mercury Prize-winning British rapper Speech Debelle returns with a new album. ‘Sunday Dinner On A Monday’ is an examination of family, friends, lineage, and ancestral DNA, through the lens of afro-futurism.

“It’s about how we imagine and then create our own futures”, says Speech. “The album is about our journey through life, as we learn from experiences that expand our senses. We learn internal management and get closer to ease. Some of us even become nourished, like a good meal. This is THAT album.” Corynne Elliot

(born 17 March 1983 in London, England), better known as Speech Debelle, is a British rapper signed to the Big Dada record label.
She was the winner of the 2009 Mercury Prize for her debut album Speech Therapy.
She released her second album, Freedom of Speech in 2012 and her third album, tantil before i breathe in 2017. Debelle's single from Speech Therapy, "Spinnin" has been re-worked by Tinchy Stryder and Dionne Bromfield and was used as one of the official anthems of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

She has also been politically and socially active with a number of charities and movements, and hosted the BBC documentary Hidden Homeless in 2012. In March 2010 Speech Debelle teamed up with Bonobo to co-write and sing on the song "Sun Will Rise", taken from Ninja Tune's 'XX' Boxset.

    Jay-Jay Johanson 'Fetish'

Jay - Jay Johanson's 14th album is one of the most refreshing of his discography. After an introspective and intimate trilogy (“Bury the hatchet” (2017), “Kings Cross”(2019) “Rorschach Test” (2021), FETISH open a new era for the iconic swedish artist.

With this new album Jay - Jay Johanson explores the melancholic, aerial atmosphere that makes the DNA of his music with a cinematographic view.

On the other side he offers songs made for the most elegant dancefloors with " Stars Aligns" and " Jeopardize" with their electronic hypnotic melodies. The new Album will drive you from intimate and lounge atmosphere to the dancefloor. An epic journey on the line of the most popular album of the artist.

The opening track "Seine" is inspired by the one who disappeared in the water of the Seine in Paris in the 19th Century. It opens with all the romantism of Jay - Jay.
"Finally“ sounds like a new classic, sampling the famous 3rd Symphony by Brahms, it reminds all the movies of the 50's calling the phantom of Chet Baker, one of his inspiration.
The First part of the album is based on quartet of modern Jazz mixed with Jay - jay's Touch like in Puppet on a String. With the Uptempos "Jeopardize" , "The Stars Align", "Summer Night of Love" , he brings us from the NY voguing scene to the decadent Berlin clubs. Flesh For Frankenstein offers a rendition of the piano melody by Andy Wharol. One of the icon of the artist.

The Album closes on Happy Birthday, a smooth and shiny song, with his crooner and lovely voice that will ravish all the lovers.

After 27 years of career, the prolific artist continues to deliver an ambitious and marvelous album that would be appreciate by the fans of the first era and the new ones who discovered him this last decade and with his live performances.

  • Adam Green 'Friends of Mine (20th Anniversary)'

Adam Green 'Friends of Mine (20th Anniversary)'

    £12.99

Capitane Records is re-issuing Adam Green's Friends of Mine in recognition of the album's 20th anniversary. For fans of Green and his band The Moldy Peaches, it may be hard to believe that it's been twenty years since those days of the early 2000s when the indie rock world was set ablaze by a new generation of artists, performers, and songwriters.

Within what felt like only a few months, bands like The Strokes, The White Stripes, The Libertines, and The Moldy Peaches, provided indie music audiences with fresh iterations and interpretations of the rock and roll canon, with influences that included both standard bearers like The Velvet Underground, Television, The Stones, The Doors, The Stooges, Leonard Cohen, The Modern Lovers, and Bob Dylan, and also more recent artists like Beck, Daniel Johnston, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Will Oldham, Pavement, and The Silver Jews.

The results varied between straight up rock and roll and punk with a songwriting, folk-inspired, consciousness. Gone were the ripped-up jeans and flannels of yore. Tight trousers and leather jackets ruled the day. It was on the heels of the success of his band The Moldy Peaches (who signed along with The Strokes to Rough Trade Records in 2001 and subsequently toured with them) that Adam Green wrote and recorded Friends of Mine, the seminal album that would define a new direction in his career.

Diverging from the home-recorded, 8 track-analog framework of his previous albums, Green adopted what then seemed like a distinctly hi-fidelity sound, complete with a full band, crooning vocals, and a string section (with arrangenments by Jane Scarpantoni).

Friends of Mine drew on the work of Serge Gainsbourg, Scott Walker, and Frank Sinatra, while its lyrical content felt as if derived from symbolist poetry and the surrealism of Brecht and Dylan. The result was something altogether new, a record that could feel both touchingly sad and also sardonic, satirical, louche, and even laugh-out-loud funny. Songs like "Jessica" would become anthems to a new generation of young indie rock fans both in the United States and Europe.

Capitane is proud to release Friends of Mine as a double LP, with a second disc of outtakes, B-sides, and live versions. This deluxe edition features notes on the songs by Green, a text which provides new insights into his often cryptic lyrical methodology along with anecdotes from the days when these songs were composed.

Also featured is a conversation between Green and Dan Myers (producer), Steven Mertens (bass player), Matt Ramono (drummer) and Larissa Brown the time). The five old friends do a deep dive into the production of Friends of Mine and trade stories of the bygone era.

The 2023 edition of Friends of Mine is a window into an essential part of our recent past as well as a testament to an artist who has stood the test of time.

Limited edition of 500 on red vinyl.

Red Guitars, indie favourites of the 1980’s, reformed in 2022 for a UK tour promoted by AEG Presents / The tour was so successful that the original line-up are recording a new album and planning a tour to promote it for Autumn 2023 / June 24th marks 40 years since their debut single “Good Technology” came out and the band are releasing a limited edition, red vinyl 12” extended remix and video to celebrate the anniversary.

“1983: It was a different world.
The world wide web hadn't been invented yet, Facebook and iPhones were another 20 years away and there were a mere 100 McDonald’s in the UK. Thatcher had just won her landslide victory and the first cruise missiles were arriving at Greenham Common. Unemployment was over 3 million. A hundred years of industrial might was to be scrapped in favour of the deregulated banking and service industries which would make us all wealthy.
The burgeoning new technology promised a brighter future for us all. Life would be easier. Culture Club were at number one. Some very popular songs fade over time as tastes change but a great song should be able to speak to every new generation that discovers it. At its core there is a truth. Alternative facts don’t exist despite what the New Right would have you believe.
Good Technology is a very simple three chord song based on a hypnotic kick drum and bass that remain constant and unchanging throughout the entire song. In essence it is a call and response song. For each vocal line telling us of the wonderful new things we’ve got, there is a response from the guitars starting with simple harmonics and building slowly and uneasily to a blistering breathless solo before the pay off.
Politically it is pin sharp but there is no tub thumping here. A dystopian prophesy of things to come. It’s all there. It uncannily predicts the power of the internet and social media, environmental catastrophe, reality TV, the fast food industry and an ever more grotesque arms industry. 40 years on and the promise, like the country, is broken.
Public services have been hollowed out to the barest shells. Levels of poverty are unprecedented since Victorian times. The new gig economy has left people who are working minimum wage jobs struggling to survive. Today there are more food banks in the UK than McDonald’s. It seems the right time to re-release this song to a new audience.” JR 2023

“Good Technology is one of those tracks that grabs you by the ears on first listen, the sort of thing that even before it's halfway through you know you love. Tense pulsing background with sharp spikes of guitar, it's clearly not long after early Talking Heads and New Romantics. It swells and spreads, expansive and awkward, but the thing that sets it apart and makes it worthy of remembering 20 years on is the arresting lyric.” Dust On The Stylus Blog

“Via one delicious melody and an ominously building beat, Red Guitars itemise the sundry achievements of modern science, from underarm personal hygiene to the hardware of instant Armageddon. In so doing, the song constructs an unforgettable vision of a world that's grown too clever by one-and-a-half at least.” Paul Du Noyer reviewing Good Technology in the NME on 27/08/83

    Avant! Records

    SDH 'Fake Is Real'

New, second press on Pink Vinyl limited to 500. Comes in a printed inner sleeve with lyrics.

The duo formed by Andrea P. Latorre and Sergi Algiz is a specialist in shedding skin and gladly combines new heteronyms in Fake is Real, their sophomore album after their self titled debut in 2018 and subsequent EPs Against Strong Thinking and Maybe a Body, which have been full of reinterpretations and remixes.

Another sign is that they trust their modus operandi to mutation and the idea that nothing is ever quite said. It’s been three years of work, growth and numerous performances in venues and festivals throughout Europe.

In Fake is Real, SDH go out once again in search of nightclubs that are familiar, but never obvious.

The occasion is tremendous and the list of honorees is select: beginning with the producer Kris Baha, who has provided forcefulness to the rhythmic base and prominence to the voices.

The dress code transcends the categories of dark wave, to dress as mischievous EBM, with accessories from new dance, acid house and disrupted but melodic techno, with structured twists that come to caress the electronic psychedelia.

Ready to play? Let's play. Let's change our epidermis, let's confuse our coats in the dark.
Knowing that only in the dark is where everything unpronounceable can have a place, SDH go all-in. Their darkwave résumé allows the duo to blend diverse electronica and leftfield sounds such as big beat, eurodance, synthwave, hard trance and body music in a very personal and emotional way.

You may hear influences drawn from Da Blitz to the Prodigy, Yves Deruyter to Faithless, yet everything is so SDH you just  can't mistake them with any other band out there.

Not unlike early 90's-era Coil, the music here is as important as the idea behind the band, a unit conceived to explore and operate on the margins of the music genres it supposedly belongs to, making it hard and therefore so damn interesting to define what's been done.

A work open to so many influences, that it gives a pleasant vertigo to be involved in it.
If you've ever been afraid of the night, Fake is Real offers you a reconciliation with all its rhythms that invites you to move together in the club.

    #EXCLUSIVE NEON GREEN VINYL#

Public Image Ltd. (PiL) have decided to continue plans to announce their 11th studio album and first album in 8 years, End of World, today, following the sad passing of John’s wife of more than 4 decades, Nora Forster, on 5th April. End of World will be released on 11th August 2023 on PiL Official via Cargo UK Distribution, followed by a 38-date UK and European Tour.

Earlier this year, PiL released Hawaii, the most personal piece of songwriting and accompanying artwork that John Lydon has ever shared. The song is a love letter to John's wife Nora, who sadly passed away from Alzheimer’s on Wednesday 5th April. A pensive, personal yet universal love song that has resonated with many since its release in January, the song sees John reflecting on their lifetime well spent and in particular one of their happiest moments together in Hawaii. John said, “Nora loved the album, she wouldn’t have wanted us to postpone it or change any of our plans.” Previously he has said of Hawaii, “It is dedicated to everyone going through tough times on the journey of life, with the person they care for the most.”

The band began writing and recording End of World in 2018, during their 40th anniversary tour. After The Great Pause, the band regrouped in the studio and “there was just this massive explosion of ideas,” Lydon says. The result finds PiL set to release 13 of the best tracks they have ever written.

The announcement comes with the release of new single Penge, which John has described as, “something of a mediaeval Viking epic.”

Celebrating their 40-year anniversary in 2018, the band is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time.

PiL’s music and vision has earned them 5 UK Top 20 singles and 5 UK Top 20 albums. With a shifting line-up and unique sound - fusing rock, dance, folk, pop and dub – Lydon guided the band from their debut album First Issue in 1978 through to 1992’s That What Is Not, before a 17 year hiatus. Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009, touring extensively worldwide and releasing two critically acclaimed albums This is PiL in 2012 followed by their 10th studio album What The World Needs Now… in 2015, which peaked at number 29 in the official UK album charts and picked up fantastic acclaim from both press and public. (The album also peaked at number 3 in the official UK indie charts and number 4 in the official UK vinyl charts). What The World Needs Now… was self-funded by PiL and released on their own label ‘PiL Official’ via Cargo UK Distribution. In 2018 PiL celebrated their 40th anniversary with a career-spanning box set and documentary, both called ‘The Public Image Is Rotten’, and a 32-date UK/Europe tour, plus dates in Japan.

John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith continue as PiL. They are the longest stable line-up in the band's history and continue to challenge and thrive.
PiL will be touring the UK and Europe in September and October 2023 - dates below.

Press quotes for lead single ‘Hawaii’, which was released in January:

“A beauteous and touching love song” - Mojo

    “Uncharacteristically soul-bearing” - Pitchfork

“an understated and emotional ballad” - Rolling Stone

“a swooning, poignant ballad awash with memories of happier times… He’s remarkably tender as he croons: “Don’t fly too soon / No need to cry, in pain / You are loved.” It’s the vulnerability that is most striking. Lydon’s love for his wife shines through like sunrays breaking through clouds, casting everything in a golden light: “I remember you,” he reassures her. He’s backed by harmonising chants of “aloha”, the Hawaiin term that is both a greeting and a farewell. It’s a message from the heart, overflowing with spirit and compassion. What better word for what Lydon is trying to convey here?” - The Independent

“a beautiful and rueful ballad written by Lydon to his wife Nora, who suffers from Alzheimer’s. It’s a peach of a track: both pensive and personal, it reflects on one of their happiest times together in Hawaii. “Remember me / I remember you… You are loved,” not-so-Rotten sings over a lush soundscape of gently twanging guitars vaguely reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac’s Albatross.” - Telegraph

‘We’re the oldest new band in the world,’- Chris Buck, Guitar / Cardinal Black

They say that good things come to those who wait. A little over a year after their launch, you could say that Cardinal Black are testament to the power of patience, thought and persistence.

A debut #1 single and E.P.; a first gig to a hometown capacity crowd at Cardiff Castle; back-to-back sold-out Academy tours with Myles Kennedy, then The Struts; a highly-anticipated debut album due this Autumn, heralded by a live set recording in the Beatles’ legendary Studio Two at Abbey Road in London. An eventful 12 months for any band. It takes years, so the saying goes, to become an overnight success...

Rewind to 2010 and the Welsh-born trio of Tom HollisterChris Buck and Adam Roberts were riding a wave of hype, hotly-tipped by some of the biggest names in rock - most notably Steve Winwood who invited the band to record at his storied Wincraft Studios.
A triumphant live set at Sonisphere was followed by a flight across the Atlantic to begin work on their first record, with veteran manager Alan Niven (Guns N’ Roses) at the helm. The lure of the U.S. proved irresistible to the nascent trio but, as is often the case, expectation rarely mirrors reality and the band struggled to adapt to the new country, culminating in singer Tom Hollister unexpectedly calling time on the band before returning to the U.K. “We tried to do the acrimonious split; creative differences and all that. We then quickly realised we were fairly reliant on one another,” says Buck.

In the decade that followed, the lifelong friends cut their own individual paths whilst remaining close. Most notable has been the well-earned rise of guitarist Chris Buck, named in 2019 as ‘Best New Guitarist in the World’, who has forged a reputation as one of the most inventive and recognisable guitar players in music; winning plaudits from peers and the industry’s most iconic players alike.
Drummer Adam Roberts found work as a first-call session player, whilst vocalist Tom Hollister moved into tour management - the three maintaining their musical connection by sporadically meeting up to perform together. It was just a matter of time then, before they were ready to make new music again.
The writing and recording of new material began in 2020, under the name Cardinal Black, bolstered by the arrival of bassist Sam Williams.

After announcing themselves with debut single ‘Tell Me How It Feels’ in May 2021, it was less than 24 hours before the track toppled Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds to take the #1 spot in the iTunes Rock Single Chart.

Their 4-track eponymous E.P. followed that summer, also claiming the #1 spot on both the iTunes Rock Album Chart and Amazon Rock Best Sellers Chart within 12 hours of its release. The E.P. would also go on to break into the Top Ten of the iTunes Album Chart, peaking at #8. They may have taken the scenic route but Cardinal Black are finally here, and they've got plenty of stories to tell.

SDH 'Against Strong Thinking' Vinyl LP

Second edition of 300 on black vinyl. Comes in a printed inner sleeve with lyrics (instead of insert).

SDH returned with the Against Strong Thinking EP, which follows its 2018 self-titled album. Although six songs may be insufficient, their new tracks highlight the strengths of their debut. The beats are deeper, the atmospheres sadder. The band continues to explore the musical language as a poetic form and trying to discover new questions that allow the great categories of thinking to be undone.

Against Strong Thinking talks about the importance of facing all that categorical, dogmatic and conclusive thinking. There is a need for dialogue with everything that seems unquestionable. Again, the questions guide all the songs and, again, there is no single answer. Sometimes this doubt is fertile, sometimes it is painful and involves a total and profound loss.

The album begins with Suffer, a perfect song to cry in late night clubs, dancing with tears in your eyes. But SDH knows how to make a crowd dance too. No Miracles is an instant banger and Your Next Story sounds cruelly sexy.

Poem Against Strong Thinking and Four Arms have that melancholic trademark sound with interesting musical progressions that we discovered in their first album and there’s also a good surprise: the inclusion of a re-recorded version of You Pt. 12, the first song released by SDH in 2016, this time with a better production that makes it easily one of their best tracks.

The importance of the body, the senses, the dance and the dialectic is present in each theme as a form of struggle of a voice that dialogues with itself against the firmness of its own strong thoughts.
