Nino Pedone’s Shapednoise project amalgamates his long time love of noise and industrial music against concurrent obsessions with rave, hardcore, hard techno and industrial.

This interest in the hard stuff is explored in destructive detail on his debut on Opal Tapes. The album opens with the violent techno deconstruction of Witness Of A Heart Attack Death, an oddly syncopated gallop through hard layers of analog scree and earth breaking kicks.

A despairing atmosphere dominates the remainder of the side with less percussive yet still deeply rhythmic tracks evocative of the power electronics of Slaughter Productions yet brought to be with the sensibility of a techno producer. Everything is darkened with sonic dirt and dismal vibes but remains nuanced, layered and highly dynamic.

Mastered by Matt Colton in May 2013 and produced by Shapednoise in early 2013.ore, hard techno and industrial.

Brussels based Yves minimal discography belies his profound ability for sound design and narrative in electronic music. Previous issues on LINE and Sandwell District have blended techno and sonic art practices into an abstract landscape full of disjointed rhythm, cavernous depth and an enduring originality in his choice of sound.

This 12 release on Opal Tapes consolidates those practices with a darker sonic palette than usual. His work sound tracking film, theatre and dance performance alludes to a deep understanding of dynamics in electronic composition.

Box Caisson opens side A with an ultra deep shuffle through open circuitry, amp buzz and stabbing kick and bassline combination. The track setting up the expansive but highly ordered employ of sound at Yves command.

Side B both brightens and darkens simultaneously as a stronger sense of melody is introduced on Eye Splice, a cinematic cut evoking science--fact industrial work lines and gelatinous mid-range detailing. The E.P. was mastered by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering May 2013 and was composed by Yves in late 2012.
