Through these strange and uncertain times it is sometimes a little hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel but this is where The Moons have stepped in. This long player is an album full of colour and raw songwriting recorded live in the legendary Studio 2 at Abbey Road Studios. With cinematic string arrangements and masterclass songwriting from the pen of singer/songwriter Andy Crofts this album will be your happy escape.
“Most of this album had been unintentionally sat in my pocket for quite some time. Songs that I had written and forgotten about or had just lost their way and left unfinished. So that is why I wanted the album to simply be named Pocket Melodies. I had this inner feeling to pull them all together and it turned out my favourite Moons record.” Andy Crofts
Pocket Melodies takes you on a journey of glorious melodies leading you through love, romance, nostalgia, regret and unity.
“I wanted to be true to myself with this record. My best strength is writing melodic pop songs so I just let it all flow as I wanted this album to be soaked in colour and completely natural. There’s no pretence, it’s just straight up pop songs. I have always worn my heart on my sleeve when it comes to my feelings and I think you can hear this in the lyrics this time.” Andy Crofts
The album features singles Riding Man and Today which received high praise and championed on BBC London and Radio X and a collaboration with Paul Weller on the song Tunnel Of Time."I wrote all of the songs on the album except Tunnel Of Time which is a collaboration between myself and Paul Weller. He once approached me with a little idea and we slowly worked at it in dressing rooms etc until I took it away and put it all together. Its a nice little song and im glad it found a home with The Moons." Andy Crofts

Riding Man is the first release of many pop-fueled songs from The Moons forthcoming new album Pocket Melodies (working title).
It’s summer vibes place you in a festival style field with a sun kissed sky and it features wonderful artwork by Goldendaze Illustration. Along with the rest of the album Riding Man was recorded in London at Abbey Road studio 2 which as you know was the main room for most of The Beatles' magic. Completely inspired and in ore, The Moons recorded the whole album live in a day leaving a little room to sprinkle some extra magic in the comfort of Paul Wellers’ personal space Black Barn Studios.
“I wrote Riding Man inspired by Moons fan and friend Bradley Wiggins after he won the Tour De France”. “When I first came up with the chords I immediately imagined myself with friends sat in long grass, acoustic guitars and orange skies”. “It would be so easy to write something about isolation and feeling trapped right now but The Moons want to give people the opposite with this single. Freedom in the sun!” Andy Crofts (The Moons).
The Moons are a 4 piece outfit formed in 2008 by frontman guitarist/songwriter Andy Crofts now also a permanent member of the Paul Weller band along with Moons drummer Ben Gordelier. Other Moonies in the band are Chris Watson guitar, Ben Curtis on bass guitar and floating member Luke Goddard who played percussion on the track and often joins the band live.

The Moons return with their final single "The Lone Wolf' a mellow yet contagious number soaked heavily in melody and recorded in studio 2 Abbey Road London. The single is the third release from the successful Pocket Melodies album.
The Lone Wolf is an outcast. A lost soul stuck inside the narrow walls of his mind and possibly by choice. He built this world to save himself but dreams what it would be like to fit in. To be accepted. On the flip is a charming piano version of the working class love song An Ordinary Romance.
The song features at the end of the Pocket Melodies documentary ‘Inside The Melodies’ and was a spontaneous live recording by Andy Crofts while sat in Black Barn Studios waiting for people to arrive for a session.

In Daniel’s own words ‘’Love and Chemicals plays like a collection of short stories or vignettes. I wanted to create something of a musical patchwork quilt with all sorts of different textures, styles and emotions. I had been writing music for a guitar - based indie band for many years but these songs were my first written with a computer.
I loved the freedom of being able to write and experiment with a whole range of different instruments from the accordion to drum machines, from the kazoo to the spoons - they’re all in there somewhere and can really help with setting the scene with some of the stories on the album.
I really wanted to work outside my comfort zone both musically and lyrically. It’s by far the best thing I’ve ever done and I’m very excited to see where I can go next.”
A 12 track raw explosion of contagious synth based indie pop.
This colourful album features the previous singles ‘I Don’t Like This Party’, ‘ The Mess You Made Me Make’ ‘You Ain’t Got It Bad (feat. Blue Canary)’ and ‘I’m Leaving Berlin’, songs which have all enjoyed recent praise and airplay from the likes of Radio X and BBC London.
