8MM Musik presents the self-titled debut LP by Berlin garage and psych-rock natives DYN (pronounced - žDine'). The duo of multi-instrumentalists Tilman (Drum, Vocals) and Carl (Guitar, bass organ, vocals) teamed up with engineer producer Fabien Lesiure (The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dirty Beaches) to record the 9 song album in a manner true to their lofi high intensity dynamic.Visit product page →
Drummer Til Kettner pounds out the beat while belting out his lyrics about love lust and misadventure, while Carl Heine kicks out the guitar and bass riffs (playing both at the same time), while also providing backing vocals. Over the last four years DYN have developed their charismatic blend of experimental garage-rock, gigging throughout the formerly divided German capital city. Performing previously under the moniker Delta Love, the band have recently supported Mission Of Burma, The Raveonettes and King Khan & and the Shrines.
Its only appropriate that the bands long anticipated debut be released by 8MM Musik, since starting in 2002, Berlins 8MM Bar has brought sense of reverence to the DIY experimental music cultures of 1970's and 80's New York, Washington DC, Köln and Berlin to the contemporary nightlife of Berlin. 8MM Musik was started to encourage and support Berlin's own original rock'n'roll scene.
Over the years, 8MM Musik helped bring international recognition to bands based out of Germany. Most notably The Blue Angel Lounge from Hagen as well as other notable German bands such as Kadavar, Camera, and Jack November.

Icelandic psych country outfit Gunman & The Holy Ghost fronted by Hakon Adalsteinsson who resides in Berlin and doubles as guitar player for Anton Newcombe & Tess Parks, release their second full length album on cult Berlin label 8mm Musik.
The Story Of Radiate And Novocaine, Gunman's second album, was recorded and co produced with sound artist BJ Nilsen in various locations in Berlin and the process took more than a year.
The album, described as misery ballads, dark alternative country, tells tales of opposites attracting and colliding, love and separation, inner demons and the surreal aspects of human existence.
Songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave are underlying influences - wonderful, smooth alt-country songs.
The album is first and foremost one thing: misery ballads, which serenade opposites attracting and colliding. Love and separation, inner demons and the surreal aspects of human existence . Not a surprise, coming from 8MM Musik.

Singapore Sling is a darkly psychedelic band from Reykjavik, Iceland. They are inexplicable and elusive but remind one of the drugged out soul power bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine.Visit product page →
Their debut album, "The Curse Of Singapore Sling", came out in Summer 2003. 'Perversity, Desperation and Death' (2009) is their 4th LP. Their leader is singersongwriter-guitarist Henrik Bjornsson, is also known from the band Dead Skeletons. .
'When nobody was making the music I wanted to hear, I decided to make it myself, instead of complaining and doing nothing. It was born out of love and hate. Love of various music from the past, mainly rock'n'roll, and hatred of the majority of the music around me. I had been making music for some years when I decided to form a band to play it live. That was for similar reasons. I named the band Singapore Sling (after the film by Nikolai Nikolaidis) shortly before our first show in the fall of 2000, which is officially when the band started.
The first proper record, The Curse of Singapore Sling, we released in 2002.
We named it 'The Curse of' because of bad luck and freaky incidents that surrounded the recording of the record. The curse went on and so did we.
We've played all over the place and released a bunch of records with a bunch of different labels. The next one, Psych F*ck, will be released by Fuzz Club records in December 2015. The love and the hatred goes on, so we go on. And on and on.' Henrik Björnsson, Singapore Sling.

The last we heard of The Blue Angel Lounge, the group abruptly split up in July 2014.Visit product page →
Since then, its been mostly quiet on the western front, as far as the reclusive band from Hagen were concerned. And then suddenly, out of nowhere a cryptic Youtube'message: 'The Blue Angle Lounge. Double LP. In Times. March 2016.' And as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared again.
But this much can now be confirmed, in March by containing both carefully selected demos of their three previous studio albums - žThe Blue Angel Lounge' (2008), - žNarcotica' (2010) and - žA Sea Of Trees' (2014) as well as previously unreleased recordings, In Times reflects the coherent work & progress of the band between 2006 und 2012 and offers an unfettered image of the band at its oeuvre-peak.
Thus belies the purpose of the album within the very nature of its title: The name derives from the eponymous piece - žIn Times', which appeared exclusively on the 8MM Musik compilation that was released in 2013 on occasion of the label's ten year anniversary and was originally composed during the - žNarcotica' sessions in 2010.
In Times is out on March 25, 2016 via A Recordings in collaboration with 8MM Musik whose name is inextricably linked with The Blue Angel Lounge: The Berlin-hailing label has been in charge since 2009 and with In Times, presents the fourth LP of this exceptional band.
Whether In Times marks the rebirth of one of Germany best bands of the last decade remains unclear. So far this much is certain however, the founding members Nils Ottensmeyer and Dennis Melster will embark on a string of european acoustic shows the end of March.

10th anniversary remastered edition of self-titled debut album.Visit product page →
The story of The Blue Angel Lounge began in the post-industrial town of Hagen in Western Germany in 2006 when Nils Ottensmeyer and Dennis 'Mel' Melster, both with abundant talent and little to do, began sculpting soundscapes. The band recorded and self-released their debut self-titled album in 2008, and shortly thereafter caught the attention of 8MM Musik in Berlin.
The band took their name from the club in New York City that in the 1960's offered Nico (Velvet Underground) her first live performances in America. Nico would remain an underlying influence on the band.
Initially a 6 piece darkly psychedelic outfit, with their second LP 'Narcotica' (8MM Musik 2010), they began subtly introducing post-punk elements to their melodic songwriting, and the intensity of Nils O's vocal began to come to the forefront.
Strangers to the mainstream, but revered by a steadily expanding fanbase around the world, the band have earned the respect of other groups such as Interpol, The Dandy Warhols, and A Place To Bury Strangers and been invited to support them on tour.
Anton Newcombe (founder of The Brian Jonestown Massacre), a fan of the band, assisted with production of 'Narcotica', and in 2012 The Blue Angel Lounge supported The Brian Jonestown Massacre on a tour of the United States, earning rave reviews.
The band played Roskilde Festival in 2013 and been twice invited to the Austin Psych Festival (now called Levitation) in Austin, Texas (2011 and 2012). In November 2012 they supported The Dandy Warhols across England, France, Holland, and Belgium.
