After a two year silence, Sulphurous are back with two new tracks that will be released on a 7" next month by MSUO. In preparation for their second full-length set for later this summer, Sulphurous return with a swift-yet-satisfying EP to whet appetites hungering for more malodorous death.Visit product page →
Thus, Encircling Darkness is likewise aptly titled, for its inexorable slipstream of tension & terror teases with no small amount of ceremony - almost ritualistic in one sense, cruelly haunting in others.
Indeed, its titular A-side sets the stage for that ceremony, but the opening peals of sorcerous feedback segueing into a slow-burning haunt that is the B-side "Unfathomable Display of Rotting Creation" truly displays Sulphurous’ mastery to come on that looming sophomore LP…
Patience may be a virtue, but all virtues can be defiled when Encircling Darkness!

Gritty guitars ferocious set in with an unholy assault of blastbeats quickly backing up the grotesque onslaught. A blend of sickeningly twisted barking and David's more well established swampy grunts are utilised alongside the barbaric instrumentals to make something really impactful, destructive and tormenting.
This demo is utterly unforgiving with so much forceful ichorous slime being hurled at the listener in only eight minutes over two songs. NATTSKOG'S BLOG

While no doubt still reeling from the tragic loss of founding vocalist Henu - GOREPHILIA soldiered on, undaunted, and now return with their long-awaited third album, In the Eye of Nothing.Visit product page →
With Jukka now also handling vocals, the four-piece GOREPHILIA exhibit a newfound sense of slithering finesse, that swampiness of old expounded upon with startling effect. Right from the very beginning, with ominous opener 'Walls of Weeping Eyes,' the band exhibit a throttling energy no matter the tempo; each moment, every mesmerizing n'martial riff, is parceled out with precision, in place exactly where it needs to be and thoroughly maximized to its fullest effect.
Which is all to say that the songwriting across In the Eye of Nothing has hit a fever pitch of perfection, channeling the diabolical fervor of early Morbid Angel with the strident command they'd exhibit as the 90s progressed, but obviously with the cosmic horror GOREPHILIA have been characteristically exhibiting all these years. In fact, one could point to a telltale track like 'Ouroboran Labyrinth' for both a visual and sonic embodiment of the dread landscapes the quartet so effortlessly construct. Or, peer deeply into haunting cover art courtesy of Raúl González - ¦inescapable immersion awaits In the Eye of Nothing.

Going from strength to strength, FACELESS BURIAL play their strongest hand yet with the full-length Speciation. Altogether sharper and more finessed than all previous, Speciation spreads unimaginable DEATH METAL MIGHT with malignant ease.Visit product page →
FACELESS BURIAL exude a charisma that's totally their own, which largely comes down to the song writing itself. Where the preceding records maintained a murky n'malodorous aspect, that was predominantly in the sound itself; here on Speciation, it's been parlayed into the tense n'treacherous textures they explore.
Otherwise, no great changes have been made, nor should there be: forever twisting and never stagnating, each of these six songs reveals new corridors through which to spelunk, and efficiently so across the album's deceptively epic 36-minute runtime. Adorned with form-meeting-content cover artwork, Speciation is bound to be the year's most forward-thinking/backwards-looking death metal album.

Arriving like an unbidden nightmare from the depths of the abyss, Denmark's Deiquisitor follow last year's eerily unsettling debut LP with four fresh corpse-molesting tracks of hideously crypt-infested death metal.Visit product page →
Down-tuned and relentless, the sound is unutterably oppressive. A demon-spawning assault of inventive-yet-traditional filth, each element shines through in horrifyingly disgusting style.
The ceaseless barrage of death-factory percussion progresses the sound endlessly forward, while hell-dwelling vocals stand atop a mountain of putrefaction constructed from the guitar/bass interplay of this imperious three-piece.

Pequenas reliquias de un infanticida (Small Relics of an Infanticidal Maniac'), was a bridging release for Ruido de Rabia and a remarkable landmark for the band, stylistically and in terms of vision. It provided evidence that something even greater was yet to be achieved: the intuition of an approachable horizon, to be explored shortly, as they proved to do later with full creative freedom.Visit product page →
Merging from the dissolution of Tortura Sitematika in 1985, the band progressively moved from the restless, raw, denouncing hardcore of their split LP with Ultimo Gobierno, to a more intricate focus, which delves into their non-conformism, both on a musical and thematic level.
With Ruido de Rabia, it was never a case of attempting to force or push a certain goal, or looking for notoriety in order to mark the difference. It was obvious that there was a potential when it came to piecing their ideas together, one that not even a wall of noise and all-spat anger could restrict or bind in any way.
At this point, they were naturally mutating as a metaphor of their own motivations in order to question, argue against, point and denounce the unacceptable.
Pequenas Reliquias de un Infanticida (1991) was, as would be the case for a demo, as much an axiom of nom-indulgence as an uncompromising critique, one which carved their diatribes with the pluralism of the as the ignition point from which to keep evolving - even within the relative narrowness of their astonishing Grind/Death.
This 10-track demo received an enthusiastic response when being reissued on tape, along with a separate booklet, by the legendary Spanish punk-harcore label Fobia-Duros sentimientos, two years later. At this stage, the band had grown immensely during the gestation of the follow up debut LP, Revolucion C0osmica.
An album that acted as both their peak and the end of their career, it was a big bang on a small scale to match their creativity, which made an everlasting historical mark in the Basque and Spanish underground.
