Founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2011, Nubian Rose have already made a name for themselves as one of Sweden's top acts when it comes to energetic, heavy riffing, melody driven, Hard Rock.Visit product page →
Nubian Rose revolves around the magnetic charisma and majestic voice of Sofia Lilja, combined with the unique talent of guitarist Christer oekerlund, Nubian Rose has made sure that they are a force to be reckoned with. After planning a self-financed, low-key release of their debut album, 'Mountain', in 2012, they were shocked and excited by how the music spread like wildfire worldwide. Within weeks of the Swedish release, they were played on radio stations in the US, the UK, Italy, France and throughout Europe.
Rock fans everywhere immediately recognised their hook-filled brand of Hard Rock with tunes such as; 'Ever See Your Face', 'Reckless', 'Mountain' and the outstanding power ballad 'How Am I'. Soon they were featured in great rock magazines such as Classic Rock and the legendary Japanese publication, Burrn!
The reviews were outstanding, Classic Rock Magazine (8/10), Powerplay (9/10), Rock Hard (8/10), Burrn! (84%), to name a few of the key publications. Long before the European release of 'Mountain', Nubian Rose were also booked to play the main stage at the first Hard Rock Hell AOR festival in Rotherham 2013. This was the band's first European show and their appearance was one of the festivals most talked about with Sofia Lilja sporting a Union Jack cat suit for part of the show to mark the event!
This Autumn it's time for Nubian Rose to hit the ground running, their sophomore album, 'Mental Revolution', is set for release on Livewire/Cargo Records. The album is armed with even heavier riffs, deeper melodies and a more mature production. Sweden's master producer and studio wizard, Tobias Lindell, who has produced albums such as 'Tear The Walls Down and 'Address The Nation' by HEAT, 'Split Your Lip, from Hardcore Superstar and 'Last Look Of Eden', by Europe, has mixed 'Mental Revolution' and given it an outstanding and impeccable sound. Nubian Rose are planning on taking the next step of their career and aiming to hit the top division.
"Bottom line, for any fans of hard-hitting, up-tempo female fronted rock with tons of attitude, you simply must buy this album. This Nubian Rose is surely going to bloom into something just a bit special before long" - Bruce Mee - Fireworks Magazine.
The band appear live at the Camden Barfly on November 27th 2014
"Swerving to avoid every other soft rock signifier you can find, this is making a play for the big time" 9/10 - Steve Swift - Powerplay

Whether it be in the form of a stand-up comedian, an artist, poet, musician, or filmmaker, I love a good maverick. The true individual refusing to waver, refusing to pander to the rules of others, is a counter-culture all to his, or her, self.Visit product page →
The Warrior Soul frontman may well appear to be more prolific in the art rather than music world these days, but that would be doing the guy a major disservice: in the past few years he has released a new Warrior Soul album (2012²s 'Stiff Middle Finger'), a follow-up to his lauded 'Opium Hotel' album (2011²s 'Opium Hotel II'), an electro-acoustic solo record ('Light Your Bonfires', also 2011), and released the long-lost self-titled album from pre-WS outfit The Trial. Kory's new album, 'Payback's A Bitch', strips his rock back even further. You won't believe it until you hear it, but he showcases a softer side, a commercially accessible side, a sidestep so severe that it'll take you aback when you first put the virtual needle on the record.
The opening (and title) track doesn't stray too far from what we already know, though ' the album easing the listener in gently. Well, the first lyrics sung are Pissed off! so not that gently. Been ripped off so many times, I'm gonna remind the assholes who did it, KC sings over a cleaner rock 'n' roll riff than usual, the song, lyrically, aimed at those who have treated him like shit and taken the piss, musically, destined to cut swathes through smoky barrooms.
'Freak' is the first of two songs featured on the album written by Bobby Kennedy of the band, Acid (who has also played with David Johansen of the New York Dolls), and it fits the spirit of the record perfectly. Bass-led, with more of a classic glam stomp, the lyrics speak of not knowing where you are or where you're heading, Kory sympathising with the words given the many projects that he finds himself involved in.
'Devil's Highway' pulls Kory back to a more expected political stance with lyrics dedicated to our seemingly never-ending struggle against the might of the military industrial complex. At chorus time it's as near as the album gets to prime Warrior Soul ' think 'Last Decade Dead Century' ' but the song's core is one made up of loops and samples, more Nine Inch Nails than Four More Years. Don't let yourself be fooled into thinking that Kory is about to fall back in line, though¦.With lyrics by Gary Hood (former guitar tech of Lou Reed), who had previously written for the original 'Opium Hotel' album, 'What Good Is Goodbye' is a pared-down barroom rock 'n' roll ballad that you would expect to hear Spike from The Quireboys singing to a room of waist-coated fans hanging on his every word.
Dedicated to good friends lost for stupid reasons, generally drug related, this song, complete with harmonica solo, finds Kory at his most honest¦.thus far. If the previous song surprises, prepare for the next to offer a knockout blow: 'Get Down To Bizness' finds Kory forgetting all about the last decade and strutting all the way back to the sick seventies. Channelling James Brown, Sly Stone, Huggy Bear, Black Belt Jones and Foxy Brown, this is one song that is gonna git you, sucka! As fun as it is fantastic, this is KC in a never-before-seen guise¦and it works, and works well. Not satisfied with going vintage R 'n' B on our asses, Clarke throws out a would-be summer anthem for fun¦in both senses of the word.
'Hoezone' speaks of superficial celebrity idiots yet, musically, pulses out like a twisted take on modern alternative dance music. If you heard this at a nightclub, or on the soundtrack to an MTV 'reality' show, you'd be forgiven for never realising that KC was at the helm. We're used to Kory and his FU, just not with N at the end. 'Jägermeister Machine' belongs on a massive ad campaign for the German digestif, the drink of choice for many a rock 'n' roller. The song itself has its tongue firmly in its cheek (or possibly someone else's) with Kory sounding not unlike Robbie Quine of The Barbarellatones as he spits out a crazed accent-heavy lyric ripping the piss out of being a wild and crazy guy in Berlin. Musically, the song is a brooding take on dark electro; lyrically, it's a side splitter. I love singing for you guys, says Clarke before 'The Last Hand' eases its way out of the speakers.
This is Spike and The Quireboys by way of the Faces again, another slow-burner set to stun¦.for wholly different reasons to the usual Kory Clarke output, but if you think this is subtle then the closing song, 'Meet Me In Las Vegas', will break your heart. Written in Nashville over margaritas and a two year period, this song is the nearest this rock 'n' roll mofo has ever gotten to a proper love song and, with its piano and string section, it stings the senses: disbelief possibly reigns, but, ultimately, you'll realise that this warrior can also pour his heart out in the direction of the one that cares as well as tear it out in objection at the ones who don't.
Recording in Porto with producer and multi-instrumentalist Andre Indiana and his wife, singer/songwriter Monica Ferraz has worked wonders for Kory Clarke. Ambitious ideas have been fully captured, experiments pushed to their boundaries: the resulting long player one of the finest you'll hear all year¦for absolutely none of the reasons that you expect going into it. Other than Kory Clarke doing whatever the fuck he wants¦and getting away with it. Again.

Call it a labour of love. A life's ambition. Or the chance to keep a precious legacy alive. Call it 100% Pure Frankie Miller. Spike's sparkling celebration of long-time pal and inspiration Miller is a very special album indeed.
Many years in the making - and finally brought to fruition by a famous band of rock n roll brothers - 100% Frankie Miller is the ultimate tribute to a Scottish legend featuring 'lost' treasures and previously hidden gems.
Bringing together the Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood, famed Free rhythm section Andy Fraser and Simon Kirke, Mott The Hoople's Ian Hunter and the brilliant Bonnie Tyler, this heartfelt collection of classic songs has been lovingly compiled by The Quireboys' lead singer Spike ' a family friend of the Millers and self-styled custodian of an historic back catalogue.
Two decades after suffering the brain haemorrhage that cut short a colourful career, Miller has emerged as one of rock's great survivors and his music lives on.
Frankie doesn't want sympathy, said Spike. He just wants his music to be heard. These songs have never been heard before and they've been recorded with Frankie's blessing. They are songs that would have been lost if it wasn't for the desire of a group of his closest friends and biggest fans to do them justice. Frankie Miller was - and still is - a massive influence on so many musicians, myself included. He has a special talent as a songwriter and that talent deserves to be celebrated.
Miller enjoyed chart success in the late 70s with Be Good To Yourself, Darlin and and When I'm Away From You and counts fellow countryman Rod Stewart amongst his biggest fans.
In 1999 the BBC filmed the documentary Stubborn Kinda Fella ' charting Miller's long road to recovery in the wake of his brain haemorrhage ' and now 100% Frankie Miller brings a remarkable story bang up to date.
100% Frankie Miller features Ronnie Wood, Andy Fraser, Bonnie Tyler, Simon Kirke, Ian Hunter, Luke Morley, Guy Griffin, Keith Weir, Paul Guerin, Tyla, Chris Corney, Mark Stanway, Mick Roobotham, Matt Goom, Pat McManus, Lorraine Crosby, Stuart Emerson, Cherry Lee Mewis, Simon Hanson and Jimi The Piper.

Visit product page →Reprobate rock n' roll from down south in London ' SE15. Looking like Dickensian urchins with a Faustian twist and sounding like The Faces if Trent Reznor had ever got hold of them, The Peckham Cowboys are not a band you'd trust to park your car.

Originally discovered by Gene Simmons of KISS, Grammy Award Winner & Multi-Native American Music award winning artist Micki Free is no stranger to success.
His rich musical history includes his career in Shalamar, his collaboration with Jean Beauvoir in cult AOR legends Crown of Thorns and embracing his Cherokee & Comanche descent - creating Native American flute music.
As a rock & blues solo artist Micki has also enjoyed international acclaim, regularly playing the Hard Rock Calling festival in London's Hyde Park & working with some of rock & pops greatest luminaries (including Prince, Janet Jackson, Wendy O Williams, Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley of KISS, Billy Gibbons & Bill Wyman) to name a few. Chances are you will have heard Micki Free play guitar before.
A major player on the music scene, he is rightly known as a guitarist extraordinaire. A guitar hero in the genuine and most traditional sense of the word, Free is bleeding on six strings rather than propped-up by technical wizardry. Micki's sound is about feeling the groove, soaking up musical influences & channelling them with the deft touch of his own unique flare.
Tattoo Burn, Micki's latest blues-rock release on Cargo Records, has all the swagger you would expect; from the hard rocking, riff laden 'Hole in the Heart of the Blues' to the traditional 'Greens & Barbecue'.
Micki Free, is a multi-talented maker of mad machinations in a most mesmerizing manner -The Rev. Billy F. Gibbons, ZZ Top
Jimi Hendrix rides again! ' Bill Wyman (who performs with Micki on a version of 'Red House' on the album)"Micki Free is not a Jimi Hendrix impersonator, but a Jimi Hendrix innovator," -Gene Simmons
I'm not into guitar technique and/or speed. I am a simple "blues-rock inspired guitarist", influenced by the greats that came before me; Muddy Waters, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Billy Gibbons and Jimi Hendrix to name a few. I am only interested in the outcome of my guitar playing in connection with my songwriting or a good "free form jam"....did it move my audience and listeners, did we connect on the level of music -Micki Free
