This release contains four self written songs by Anton Newcombe ,a co write of the band's first Slovakian song (PrsàPrsÃÂ) with Vladimir Nosal , another co write (Pish) with Tess Parks and a cover of the 13th Floor Elevator's track "Dust" which features Alex Maas from the Black Angels on jug Originally, Anton Newcombe was heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones' psychedelic phase, but his work in the 2000s has expanded into aesthetic dimensions approximating the UK Shoegazing genre of the 1990s and incorporating influences from world music, especially Middle Eastern and Brazilian music.
This album brings the traditional Brian Jonestown Massacre sound mixed with eastern influences & bringing it up to date with the benefit of all the additional weirdness that's been discovered in the past 40 years.

Magic Castles are a five-piece band from Minneapolis MN.
Their sound has been described as droney psychedelic pop, combining the organ drenched hazy atmospherics of mid/late 60s with sun-drenched west coast folk-rock.
Magic Castles toured with Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2012 and released a beautiful 12 - " split single with BJM on Record Store Day spring 2014..
Their 2014 sophomore release 'Sky Sounds' (A'Recordings) and successful west coast tours sees the rapidly improving band reaching new heights.

Birdstriking and the other bands coming out of China right now are enthusiastic to explore and find out what's their own music. And so that's a new energy in the same way that rock 'n' roll was new'young people finding their youth culture and expression," says A Recordings founder and Brian Jonestown Massacre frontman Anton Newcombe.
Like Joy Division forming at a Sex Pistols gig a couple of generations before, Birdstriking was born when guitarist He Fan and drummer Wang Xinjiu met at a Carsick Cars show at Beijing's legendary, now-shuttered rock club D-22. From Birdstriking's first time on that same stage in 2009, the band quickly established itself on the Beijing indie rock scene, becoming one of the leaders of a new generation of rockers born after 1990, growing when China was fully open to the West and now as likely to cite as influences homegrown talent like Carsick Cars and P.K. 14 as imported music like Nirvana and Joy Division.
Birdstriking's relentless live shows masterfully blend tuneful hooks, calculated psych-noise meltdowns, precision rhythmic structure, and brash lyrical frankness. He Fan's impassioned wails are youthful and politically angled, as on 'Monkey Snake', when he chokes out, 'You can control the media, but you can't control my mind.' In fact, the band's charged lyrics mean their debut album, released in 2012 on local label Maybe Mars and produced by P.K. 14's Yang Haisong, was never officially distributed in China.
In 2011, CNN named Birdstriking one of the best young bands in China, and last year the band opened for the Brian Jonestown Massacre in the UK and headlined Hong Kong's Clockenflap festival.

Born in Berlin in early 2014 and nurtured over the following summer, I Declare Nothing'is the spine-tingling collaboration between Tess Parks and Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre), due for release on Anton's A Recordings label on 29th June.
The duo, who co-wrote and co-played on the album, they are touring across Europe this year.
Tess Parks - A native of Toronto, Tess Parks moved to London, England at the age of seventeen where she briefly studied photography before deciding to focus on music. Tess made an impression on industry legend Alan McGee, founder of Creation Records, albeit the timing of their meeting could hardly have been less ideal; McGee was no longer involved in music and Tess was due to move back to Toronto. After moving back to her hometown in 2012, Tess formed a band on the advice of McGee and less than a year after their meeting, he returned to music with his new label, 359 Music.
Tess became one of his first signings and released her debut record Blood Hot'in November 2013 to excellent reviews. One reviewer described her as 'Patti Smith on Quaaludes'. Others have mentioned her "gauzy psychedelic sound' and "smouldering voice'. Alan McGee himself said: 'She's only 24 and is already an amazing songwriter... she just doesn't quite know she is yet - ¦ her most beautiful quality is her lack of ego. Tess is an amazing lady'.
Anton Newcombe - Anton Newcombe is the leader of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, who returned last May with their 14th full-length album Revelation'to critical acclaim. It is the first album that was fully recorded and produced at Anton Newcombe's recording studio in Berlin and was released on his record label A Recordings. It was supported by a successful European tour.
Named in tribute to the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist and his influence in introducing Eastern culture and music into the world of Western rock & roll, Brian Jonestown Massacre formed in San Francisco, California in 1990.
Two dozen band members later and numerous 'ups and downs' (some have been famously sensationalized in the media), the one thing that has always remained consistent for this psychedelic collective, is front man Mr. Anton Alfred Newcombe.

Coming shortly on the heels of their 2013 'mini-LP' Healing, Weird Owl are back in 2015 with a full-length LP entitled Interstellar Skeletal, once again being released by a'Recordings, Ltd.
For the first time in their ten-year history, Weird Owl have kept the same lineup for consecutive releases, and Interstellar Skeletal reveals further explorations into the psychic canyons mined on Healing. Rather than scrapping the mission and returning to base for debriefing before attempting a relaunch, Weird Owl's strange sonic rocketry has ventured ever deeper into the vast starry expanse, and their transmissions back to Earth have grown ever freakier as a result.
Their psychedelic postcards are written in the cosmic breathiness of the synthesizer and the alien ululations of a guitar tuned to secret frequencies, rumbling through the ages on illuminated rhythmic grids. Each track on Interstellar Skeletal serves as an interdimensional portal to free zones beyond the usual terrestrial veil, whether it is via odd jungle shamanism ('Silver Ziggurats'), the WWII bomber as spiritual metaphor ('Flying Fortress'), death personified as an albino lycanthrope ('White Werewolf') or the unsettling might of an extraterrestrial deity crashing a beach picnic ('God').
Interstellar Skeletal was recorded and mixed by Jeffrey Berner (Psychic TV, NAAM, Dead Stars) at Galuminum Foil Studio in Brooklyn in the fall of 2014, following Weird Owl's first-ever European tour.

This 4 track EP runs at over 24 minutes .
Their new EP is Stockholm Death Star which is recorded in the band's own studio in Sweden's capital and consists of four new tracks. Those of you who are already familiar with the group will probably recognize their trippy spacerock over pulsating motorik beats from their earlier releases, and their feel for melodies is still very much present in the four songs.
Produced by the bands guitarist, singer and main songwriter during the dark months of the Scandinavian winter, the music still has an ethereal light glimmering through the blissfully stoned vocal harmonies and chiming twelve string guitar riffs. " If you live in a dark and cold city covered in snow and the times around you are dark as well, you have to look extra hard and try to find a little spark of light inside yourself" as Joakim æhlund puts it.
Three of the tracks have that typical almost danceable groove that we have come to expect from this band and there's even a sort of ballad ending the EP, the almost dubby, seven and a half minutes long, spaced out "Vapour RIP", which though its rather dark lyrics deal with a misspent life and futile regrets, ends in an uplifting almost religious crescendo with fuzz guitars and mellotron strings.

Originally self-released in 1995 on 100 cassettes, the long out of print self titled debut album, Swearing At Motorists, will be reissued by A Recordings Ltd and released for the first time on vinyl this album runs at just over 17 minutes . Recorded in 1994 on equipment borrowed from room mates Brainiac, this lo-fi gem was Dave Doughman's first experiments with songwriting and home recording. The reissue serves as insightful glimpse into the beginnings of the band, who have also just released their latest album, While Laughing, The Joker Tells The Truth.
Swearing at Motorists has come a long way since its birth as a poster for a fake band in 1994. A few months after the posters mysteriously appeared in record stores and music venues around Dayton, OH, Dave Doughman jokingly scrawled the name on a cassette of home recordings that he gave to friends, and the band was officially born, joining already established Dayton bands Guided by Voices, Brainiac and the Breeders in releasing music made in the Miami Valley.
The late '90s found S@M releasing a slew of 7" EPs on different labels, and after getting repeated plays from the BBC's John Peel and favourable press worldwide, the band landed a contract with the then new label Secretly Canadian.
They released 2 EPs and 4 LPs on Secretly Canadian, including 2000's Number Seven Uptown and 2002's This Flag Signals Goodbye, both of which were named MOJO Magazine's "Underground Album of the Year" the years they were released.
The band will also be attending SXSW 2015. In addition to their official showcase, they will also be playing several day parties, including their own party, the 2nd annual All Tomorrow's Tacos, which features a mix of bands and stand up comics. Drummer Til Kettner pounds out the beat while belting out his lyrics about love lust and misadventure, while Carl Heine kicks out the guitar and bass riffs (playing both at the same time), while also providing backing vocals. Over the last four years DYN have developed their charismatic blend of experimental garage-rock, gigging throughout the formerly divided German capital city. Performing previously under the moniker Delta Love, the band have recently supported Mission Of Burma, The Raveonettes and King Khan & and the Shrines.
Its only appropriate that the bands long anticipated debut be released by 8MM Musik, since starting in 2002, Berlins 8MM Bar has brought sense of reverence to the DIY experimental music cultures of 1970's and 80's New York, Washington DC, Köln and Berlin to the contemporary nightlife of Berlin. 8MM Musik was started to encourage and support Berlin's own original rock'n'roll scene.
Over the years, 8MM Musik helped bring international recognition to bands based out of Germany. Most notably The Blue Angel Lounge from Hagen as well as other notable German bands such as Kadavar, Camera, and Jack November.

Guests on this daring symphonic experience are French chanteuse and multi-instrumentalist SoKo and Italian actress, singer and director Asia Argento. SoKo is signed to Because Music and her track We Might Be Dead by Tomorrow'was featured in the viral video First Kiss', which has garnered over 63 million views and debuted at number 9 in the Billboard Hot 100 last year. Asia Argento, who has starred in music videos for Marilyn Manson, Placebo and Tim Burgess, recently wrote the storyline for ASAP Rocky's music video and short film Phoenix', which has had over 5.5 million hits. Both vocal performances are in French.
Anton Newcombe recorded Musique de film imaginé in Berlin in August 2014, after a successful European tour for the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Fizzy is a studio recording and was recorded in the summer of 2012 , 'Urine Mate' (welcome to the club) was recorded live at the German club Skalitzer Berlin August 24th 2013 featuring John Paul who does the introduction to the song . Anton Newcombe met the band online and as a fan of the band wanted to release a single on his label , 'Urine Mate' (welcome to the club) is an exclusive version of this track to this release, Fizzy can be found on the album Austerity Dogs released 2013 on Harbinger Sound.
Jason says 'Fizzy' was inspired by the many thousands of psychopathic managers and supervisors that terrorise low paid workers throughout the world on a daily basis. I've modelled this song on one cunt in particular but it is by no means an isolated experience. As for 'Urine Mate' (welcome to the club) Jason comments describes in detail Nottingham's Mansfield Road.

Co-produced by Dave and Rick McPhail (of the legendery German band Tocotronic), the album tells the tales of those "los t" 8 years in classic Motorists style.

Magic Castles are a five-piece psychedelic rock band from Minneapolis MN. Their sound has been described as minimalistic, dream pop & neo-psychedelic rock. Drawing from a myriad of influences, combining the hazy, "floaty" atmospherics of bands like Spacemen 3 and Galaxie 500, with the organ-drenched psych of the mid/late 60's--particularly American west coast folk-rock, Magic Castles continue to create an altogether unique sound.
Since their 2012 release on Anton Newcombe's imprint they have toured consistently, building a solid reputation for wall-of-sound live shows, stretching out their songs to new dimensions. The Magic Castles were the supporting act for BJM's east coast tour in 2012. Thrasher Magazine recently used their song "Big Sur" in a skate video alongside Kurt Vile. On April 20th 2014, BJM released a beautiful 12" split single with The Magic Castles for Record Store Day.
"Sky Sounds was recorded at The Old Blackberry Way Studio in Minneapolis, MN by Neil Weir. Produced by Neil Weir, Jason Edmonds, "Sky Sounds sees the band reaching new heights. The album is dense with lush arrangements, jangling backward guitar sweeps, ever deepening melodic layers, symphonic Farfisa tones, and bright vocal harmonies. During which they recruited the help of Joe Dilworth (Stereolab) to contribute live drums to the recordings , this was the first time the band have worked outside of their own studio set up at their home in South London.
'Out Of Body' is a further exploration of the bands interest in phenomenology, bodily immersion and consciousness. Introspective lyrics are suspended in dream like melodies, further expanding upon the duo's hypnotic aesthetic which they explore both sonically and visually on the record.
The KVB is the audio/visual project of London youngsters Nicholas Wood & Kat Day, who combine reverb heavy wall of sound guitars, minimal haunting strings and grinding bass synths, messed up motorik drum machine beats and delay drenched vocals with a backdrop of imagery to accompany the symphony, that's nothing short of life affirming.The KVB is a group with a sense of urgency about it, to do what they need to do, with full commitment and without delay.

The Blue Angel Lounge sign to Anton Newcombe's (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) label 'A' Recordings (Dirty Beaches, Dead Skeletons, KVB) 2014 sees the return of The Blue Angel Lounge with their 3rd studio album A Sea Of Trees, released on May 2nd. Since the release of their previous album 'Narcotica', the band have been garnering international acclaim, touring the US, UK and France with the Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and also making appearances at the Austin Psych Fest and Roskilde.
A Sea Of Trees sees the band blossom into its own, incorporating the experimentation of their most recent EP and Single releases (Ewig 2012, Walls 2013).From the very first moment of 'A Sea Of Trees', the epic opening track'Winter' wastes no time sonically detailing where the band has been. The bands weapons of choice, guitars coupled with harmonium and singer Nils Ottensmeyer's powerful Nico'esque vocals culminate in genre-bending territory belonging to them alone.
The album marks the bands first worldwide release via Anton Newcombe's (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) 'A' Recording label. Mr. Newcombe joined The Blue Angel Lounge on stage in support of their last record, and most recently invited them to support them on The Brian Jonestown Massacre's 2012 American tour to rave reviews.The Blue Angel Lounge formed in 2006, after meeting at school in their German village Hohenlimburg near the Rhine River. Led by singer Nils O. Ottensmeyer and Dennis Melster, the band took their name from the club in New York City that in the 1960's offered Nico her first live performances in America. Nico and The Velvet Underground would remain an underlying influence on the band.
'A Sea Of Trees' was recorded between 2013 and 2014 at Funkhaus-studio and Studio H1-3 Nalepastrasse, Berlin. Mixed at A Recordings Studio, Berlin. Produced, recorded and mixed by Fabien Leseure and The Blue Angel Lounge.

Sold outVisit product page →February 2014 saw the band release their Back To Bagarmossen EP on London/Stockholm indie label PNKSLM Recordings. The 10 vinyl received huge praise both internationally and at home, even picking up mainstream TV coverage on Sweden's TV4.
Following the EP, Les Big Byrd unleashed their debut full length release, They Worshipped Cats, on Anton Newcombe's A Records, Anton has co written & plays 2 tracks on the album, they are supporting the Brian Jonestown Massacre on their European tour.When Anton recently visited Stockholm with his band The Brian Jonestown Massacre, the guys accidentally ran into each other at a local record shop, and started talking about music. Anton invited the band down to his studio in Berlin to record and jam for a few days and it was there that a big part of "They Worshipped Cats" was conceived and recorded. The album is filled with beautifully melancholic melodies, poems of time-space continuum read through vocoders, cosmic clouds of filtered stringmachines, motorik krautrock drums, 12-string .
Les Big Byrd was formed in Stockholm by Joakim oehlund and Frans Johansson a couple of years ago.
Joakim was brought up in the late seventies by an immigrant mom in Bagarmossen, a Stockholm suburb where kids sniffed glue in the concrete basements, and the local smalltime gangsters did drive-by's long before Sweden even knew what the phrase meant. At the same time, Frans grew up in the very north of Sweden in a small town with 9 months of winter and darkness every year.
They each eventually joined different rock bands that brought them out of Sweden and into a different world, and took them across Japan, England, Europe and America. Frans' band Fireside, got signed by Rick Rubin to his label Def American and Jocke had a taste of international success with 60's-influenced garage-pop outfit Caesars, as well as his other, more electronically flavored project Teddybears.
Years later, Frans and Jocke met up again after both Caesars and Fireside had crashed and burned due to drug-fueled intrigues, road-weariness, bad management or complete lack thereof.
They decided that they still - in spite of everything - had their love for music intact, and the dream in common to get the perfect band together and give it one more shot. They recruited Jocke's former bandmate, drummer Nino Keller and keyboardist Konie and started jamming and rehearsing.
Joakim had been running a recording studio in Stockholm, writing and producing for Swedish and international artists, including Robyn and Håkan Hellström, and had also directed music videos for prominent Swedish exports such as Bob Hund, Refused, Broder Daniel and The International Noise Conspiracy. Keyboardist Konie also runs a studio in Stockholm, where he's been recording a number of film scores as well as many of Swedens most interesting black metal acts.Tracklisting:

Revelation is the first album that was fully recorded & produced at Anton's recording studio in Berlin . It is the 14th full length release from the Brian Jonestown Massacre recorded from late 2012 to early 2014, with Anton Newcombe refining the 13 tracks that appear on the album.
Featuring appearances from: Ricky Maymi (an original member of the band), Joachim Alhund (Les Big Byrd), Constatine Karlis (Dimmer), Ryan Van Kriedt (Asteroid #4) as well as a vocal performance in Swedish by Joachim Alhund (Les Big Byrds) on the opening track.This album brings the traditional Brian Jonestown Massacre sound mixed with eastern influences & bringing it up to date with the benefit of all the additional weirdness that's been discovered in the past 40 years.
