Hispanic Blues Rock Legends, Vargas Blues Band to release 'Heavy City Blues' via Off Yer Rocka Recordings It's hard to believe that's such an artist as Javier Vargas, who's recorded & performed with some of the world's heavy weights such as Santana, Double Trouble, Jack Bruce, Devon Allman, Larry Graham, Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, Junior Wells, Glen Hughes and Chris Rea to name a few, is still expanding his Blues n' Swamp rock spectrum with outstanding results.
The Jams and the collaborations will never end as far as Javier is concerned & Heavy City Blues, which featured Carmine Appice, Paul Shortino and Bobby Alexander, is just another stepping stone forward for this Blues Rock phenomenon - namely the Vargas Blues Band. The VBB have been rolling around the globe for nearly 22 years now and with 20 albums in the vault, it seems as this won't be stopping anytime soon.
Ask anyone in the world blues rock circuit of what they know about Javier Vargas and they'll have nothing but praise n' admiration for this true Blues Rock legend, with a unique unrivalled guitar style and a set of balls that are ready to take on the world, the mind can only boggle as to what he'll get up to next. Heavy City Blues will be released physically via Off Yer Rocka Recordings, worldwide (except Spain / Portugal) on 5th May 2014.
This will be preceded by a new single & lyrics video on 22nd April covering the Everly Brothers Classic, Love Hurts but injected with the signature Vargas guitar licks. As for touring, he never stops and constantly plays, North & South America, Europe and Russia full cycle.

Afterlife are a Hard Rock band from Glasgow, Scotland featuring former members of Logan. Formed in early 2011 the band came together during down time from other projects and the drive to stay musically creative. The band have since performed live supporting Swedish Rockers Bonafide, Nashville Pussy, the UK's own Terrorvision and more recently Rock N' Roll royalty Thin Lizzy. Afterlife have also performed at up and coming Scottish festival Les-Fest (2013), the Cambridge Rock Festival (2013) and Hard Rock Hell (2012).
OMEGA was recorded during the summer of 2013 at a secluded studio overlooking Loch Fyne in Scotland and features 11 all new tracks including; 'What Do We Die For', 'Way Back Home' and 'Lost'. In September 2013 a music video for the song 'Lost' was released, which was filmed during this recording session.

The follow-up to their critically-acclaimed second album Road Dog, the new album was once again produced and mixed by roddymacaudio at Titan Studios West in Glasgow, Scotland and mastered in New York, US by Michael Tucci at Masterdisk (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Pearl Jam). Â
88MPH is a diverse collection of hard-hitting biker rock anthems, grinding blues-infused metal riffs and searing ballads featuring Jonny Parr on lead vocals and guitar; Richie Rage on drums; Stevie Bell on lead guitar and new member Colin Wilson on bass and vocals. The album also features guest appearances by Lanarkshire-based singer Emma Nailen and Attica fan Marko Duckworth, who landed the task of battering a beer keg with a baseball bat! 88MPH will be officially launched by the band at Hard Rock Hell VI festival in Pwllheli, North Wales on 30 November 2012, including an album signing session and a fired-up, full-throttle live showcase, sharing the weekend bill with headliners Ace Frehley (KISS), Testament, Sebastian Bach and Buckcherry. Â
The album launch continues the following weekend with two ATTICA RAGE headline shows at Glasgow Classic Grand on Friday 7 December and London Nambucca on Sunday 9 December. Special guest supports for these shows are label buddies and Italian metal maestros Arthemis. Talking about the album, singer Jonny Parr comments, We completed 88MPH in six weeks and took the deliberate decision to go for a gutsier, stripped-back sound - this is the purest fans will have heard us on record yet. It's punchy and in-yer-face and chock full of hooks, melodies and some hefty monster riffs.
There are also some beautifully tender moments too though. Â We're all very proud of 88MPH and we know the fans are gonna love it! ATTICA RAGE have toured continuously over the last few years building a strong army of fans - Clan Attica - taking their distinctive biker rock n' metal sounds across the UK & Europe at headline shows and festivals including High Voltage, Hard Rock Hell, Bulldog Bash, Hammerfest, Metalcamp, HRH Road Trip Ibiza and Download Festival Boardie BBQ party. They have supported bands such as Saxon, Diamond Head and Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and have shared billings with Judas Priest, Dream Theater, Slash, Anthrax, Thin Lizzy, Black Label Society, Down and Skindred, amongst others. Â In summer this year, ATTICA RAGE performed at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2012 awards pre-show party on board the HMS Hammer boat along with Shadows Fall and Fozzy plus hundreds of fans, media & industry as it sailed along the River Thames in London towards the 02 Arena. Â
Attica Rage also contributed a cover version of 'Killer of Giants' on a US-released Ozzy Osbourne tribute album and are currently completing work on a 3-year documentary and live concert film DVD with director Colin Wood.
