    Cult band Spacemen 3 recorded four studio and one live album before their demise in 1990, the main song writers going on to form Spiritualized (Jason Pierce) and Spectrum (Pete Kember) this live album was recorded in germany during the bands european tour of 1989, which was sadly to be one of their last live performances.

    Starting with their regular opening song 'rollercoaster' a building, pulsing track that works up the emotions ready for the rest of the set, including; '2:35' a Spacemen 3 classic and regular since 1984, 'Things'll Never Be the Same', 'Revolution' a song once requested by MTV for use as a theme tune for a new show and their usual last song 'Suicide' also included are tracks that didn't regularly make the shows, such as; 'Bo Diddley Jam' an instrumental show of Spacemen 3's trademark drones and feedback, 'Lord Can You Hear Me' and 'I Believe It', both emotionally moving pieces from 'Playing With Fire' (also on Space Age Recordings) but very rarely played live.

This album is again pressed on heavyweight 180 gram vinyl with printed card inner sleeve but this version is the standard black vinyl version.

    Originally released in February 1989 and after having been out of print on vinyl for nearly 20 years Space Age Recordings are pleased to announce an official limited edition vinyl release of the third and penultimate studio album "Playing with Fire" by Spacemen 3 (Sonic Boom a.ka. Peter Kember (Spectrum / E.A.R.) and Jason Pierce (Spiritualized).

    Featuring the single "Revolution" first released in November 1988:

    Following the quickly sold out limited edition red coloured vinyl that was exclusively released for Record Store Day 2017 Space Age Recordings are pleased to announce a new vinyl pressing of Spacemen 3's fourth and final studio album "Recurring'. This album is again pressed on heavyweight 180 gram vinyl with printed card inner sleeve but this version is the standard black vinyl version.

    By the time the album was recorded, relations between the band had soured to the extent that the record is essentially in two parts; the first five tracks on side A'written and performed by Sonic Boom a.ka. Peter Kember (Spectrum / E.A.R.), and the last five tracks on side B'written and performed by Jason Pierce (Spiritualized).

    The lead track from the album 'Big City" recently featured on the season 27 premiere of The Simpsons'being the sound track to Homer Simpson's wild night out on the town, mixing alcohol with prescription drugs.

    Originally released in 1989 and only available with a coupon contained in the Spacemen 3 classic "Playing
    With Fire", "Threebie 3" has become something of a collector's item.

    Featuring four tracks from a live show at the
    Melkweg, Amsterdam from February 1988 and a studio version of "Live Intro Theme (Xtacy)". The tracks "Starship", "Revolution", "Suicide" and "Repeater" capture perfectly the spirit of the Spacemen 3 live experience

    The trademark drones and one chord barrages are tied together by a brooding sense of urgency and a near chaotic air of energy.
