    The Kut is a British rock multi-instrumentalist. She is a Double Award Winner in the UK Songwriting Contest (Feb ’22) and Winner of the International Songwriting Rock Award (Mar ’22).

    New releases ‘ANIMO’ and ‘Satellite’ have had over 3000 recent airplays including on Kerrang!, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Introducing Lancs, Planet Rock, Total Rock, Hard Rock Hell, Amazing Radio and independent FM stations worldwide.

    Both singles charted in the UK Official Charts. ‘ANIMO’ Charted at No.8 Physical, No.35 Sales and No.76 in the Downloads Chart.  It also charted in the USA Submodern Singles (Airplay) Top 100 Chart at #87 and Charted at #12 in the NMD NACC Top Singles ‘Heatseeker’. 

    ‘SATELLITE’ charted at No.22 in the UK Single Sales Chart, No. 22 in the Downloads Chart and No.13 Physical Singles. In the US the single joined the US NACC MMD Top Singles Chart at No.10 (Feb ’22). The making and release of the latest video singles and the recording of forthcoming second album ‘GRIT’ are funded by Arts Council England. 

    The album features both recent singles and 8 other fresh kuts, recorded by all seven members of The Kut collective. Produced by James LeRock Loughrey the album sees The Kut feature as vocalist/guitarist alongside the collective, as well as moonlighting drummer and bassist and two tracks.

    THE KUT release their new self-titled four track picture disc EP as a limited release via their own Criminal Records on 22nd April 2017.

    THE KUT's forthcoming release features four tracks from the band's two previous, sold out EPs, Rock Paper Scissors'and Make Up', in a limited edition press of 500 picture disc vinyls. The cover art was designed by Zoltan Kiss and uses the image he created for, and is used on the front of Maha's custom Marshall Amplifier. THE KUT are an all-girl indie/grunge/punk London based outfit led by lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Maha Princess.

    THE KUT occupy that sweet spot where grunge, riot grrrl and indie collide and make music for fans of Hole, L7, Sleater Kinney, Kenickie, Blondie, The Stooges, Placebo and The Ramones. Furiously active on the uk live scene THE KUT were voted one of Kerrang!'s Breakout stars for 2017.

    THE KUT EP's lead track, I Want You Maniac'hints at happy collision between between Joey Ramone, Iggy Pop and Courtney Love and with gnarly grunge guitars, punk beats and gritty screams. Bad Man'throws a sucker punch at the new POTUS with the track being premiered via Kerrang! and included by Q Magazine as one of their top tracks of the day.

    Rock category Finalist of the UK Songwriting Contest 2017 and current Semi-Finalist of the International Songwriting Competition, The Kut, announces a World Wide Record Deal with Cargo Records for the long-awaited debut album Valley of Thorns'.

    The album, produced by James Le Rock'( Skindred / Def Leppard / White Zombie / My Vitriol) finally sees the release of some of the live favourites heard on tour, and releases on Friday 13th April.

    Active on the UK and European alt.rock scene, The Kut, is the alter-ego of multi-instrumentalist, Princess Maha. The live outfit has seen many guises, with the most recent line up featuring Diana Bartmann (drums) and Stella Vie (bass / bvs). Festival performances have included Download, Camden Rocks Festival, Rebellion Festival, Hard Rock Hell, Glastonbudget, Nice N Sleazy and Strummercamp among others.

    Meanwhile, tours have spanned the UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Voted into the winning spots of the MTV Brand New Unsigned Poll for 2014, subsequent EP releases and tours have gained support from - deep breath - The Guardian, Metro, Scuzz, Kerrang! Magazine, Big Cheese, Planet Rock, BBC Introducing Lancashire, Kerrang! Radio, Metal Hammer, Big Cheese, Q and Classic Rock, AXS TV, MTV-U USA and many credible independents.

    Cargo and The Kut have partnered with Pledge Music to set the release in motion. 2017 saw The Kut featured as one of Kerrang! Magazine's Breakthrough Acts of 2017, while The Kut EP' was released on 500 limited edition picture disc for Record Store Day 2017, also featuring at number 4 in Kerrang! Magazines Top 10 Record Store Day Releases, alongside Baby Metal and Gerard Way.

    The summer saw The Kut playing 21 UK mainland dates, and the year ended with the band claiming the Number 1 Spot in the Beyond 50 Promotions Top 50 Under the Radar UK Bands. Announcements for 2018 have included The Kut being added to the line ups of Camden Rocks Festival, Amplified Festival, Strummercamp Festival, Nice and Sleazy and Rebellion Festival.
